That's funny, FFA Cup site says 1800.

They added the seagulls.

Avondale should have won it in normal time but understandably faded in extra time. The npl team making the semis will fade early in the 2nd half being non match fit.

Very impressive performance by Avondale against SFC.

Particularly considering they came back from 2 goals down.

looks like Avondale covered up there italian flag on the back of there jerseys again with black tape, perhaps they should just grow a pair and and embrace it. FFA are the ones on the back foot when it comes to NCIP etc.

Not a Phase, Not a Trend, SYDNEY UNITED till the END!

Was a great night, Avondale super impressive to put in that sort of performance after already playing 120 minutes on Friday. A lot of quality in that side, further highlights the need for a second division. Can't have this much quality in the NPL wasted playing semi pro football.

Would be interesting to see if the Visa regulations were the same across the board.
A-League 5 Visa players
NPL in Vic 2 Visa players
Sydney 4 Visa players on the night Avondale 2

Interesting that yet another occurrence  has happened in which the only thing that separates the semi professionals with the professional is essentially fitness.

Added to that is a player like Joey Katebain who didn't get much of a run with the Roar, but has over the last couple of years joined NPL teams that have been able to pressure the A League teams in the FFA Cup. It will be good to see the expansion and second division unfold.

Quite a few players that just couldn't cut at A League are now quite prevalent at state league level which along with other factors is responsible for their increased competitiveness at these FFA Cup games in the past couple of seasons. To me it seems a certain equilibrium is being reached in that in games between A League clubs & NPL clubs there are no easy games & the technical level of the Australian based players between the two divisions are pretty much now the same.  The establishment of a second division will certainly put the A League clubs on notice & at the same time increase the quality of the lower tier due to the games meaning more, the possibilities of players being noticed by A League & overseas clubs & increased professionalism of both the lower tier & A Leagues, especially in terms of administration & evaluation of finances & how they spent.

Hard to tell.
I don't think that the Adelaide squad is as good as last season plus rumours of injuries.

100% APIA have a chance, but I hear Franco Parisi is out, that is a big loss.
Adelaide were absolute trash against Lions in the previous round, Lions very unlucky to lose.
Anything can happen tonight

Weather turned to shit in Sydney today. Not sure who would fare better but Leichhardt Oval would have been great on a warm evening.

Rain has backed off here in Sydney.
Maybe more showers now and then expected and Leichardt is going to be very slippery now, usually is without any dew, gonna be worse after this morns rain..
Importantly APIA know what to expect from the pitch.
APIA have a real chance and far more match fit than Adelaide even though losing the recent GF.
Parisi has had a purple season compared to last and more but IF he is out its no worries they have the resource to fill the spot.
How quick are the reds at the back ? handling Sekiya's pace will be a hand full for them all game full stop.
Looking forward to this game !
FORZA APIA.

Hope this is the main game on Fox, has to be.

Council grounds in the inner west are open so it might not have rained too much in Leichhardt.

I don't understand why a club like APIA would move their game away from their original home against Adelaide when in reality only a crowd of 1500 max is what is to be expected.
Wouldn't they make a loss playing here as opposed to their home ground?
Unless the council has basically let them play here at a minimum cost but even then it would have been better to play this game at Lambert in my opinion.

Not their choice, FFA didn't approve Lambert Park.

If I recall correctly, the food and drink stalls were manned by APIA volunteers judging by their clothing during the Victory game, so hopefully they made a profit off that. I bought enough beers to make sure of it lol

It's unfortunate how far away Kingston Heath is from the franger railway line, but still it looks like a tidy little complex for a boutique 5k seater.

Hopefully they do make money, the last thing you want is state clubs making finals, and then making losses because of them being forced by FFA to play at a bigger venue.
