+x+xI've notice Archie Frasers tweet count has doubled in recents weeks. He has been a lot more vocal, I assume reminding everybody he's still about. and according to the man himself, $1m cheaper per year than DG He joined up with Palmer, remember. He's a football prostitute. No thanks.

influenShe spoke on the Box2box podcast this week and she doesn't trust the Lowy"s to not try and still create roadblocks for the game. She is very suspicious that why didn't Steven Lowy resign immediately and that anyone in his position would of done so. I thought the same thing. Why is he still here till November.

+x+xAll I got out of that is that Moya Dodd ran over her cat sometime past. Not much to the article was there? In other words, the total of the three sponsorships is likely to be around $5.7 million against the claims that the sponsorships from Scentre, Caltex and NAB "are worth $10 million a year - almost 10 per cent" of FFA's total revenue of $105 million last year. The only way the three sponsorships could be worth $10 million is if NAB increased their sponsorship from $1.35 million in 2015 to $5.7 million in 2017. Possible? Yes. Likely? No.

The Financial Times reported that NAB had increased their sponsorship by over 50% late in 2015 but even with that increase the total sponsorship of the 3 sponsors would be $6.3m. Many of the sponsorships include bonus payments for qualification and participation in the WC but I wouldn't expect that even that would take the total anywhere near the $10m figure.

Bonita makes one very good point ...if football can't attract sponsors other than friends of the Lowys then we need to learn how to do it ...and quickly. Personally I think it is a beat up . The FFA has plenty of value for sponsors .The Socceroos and Matildas are very well known commodities and most potential sponsors would be well aware of the participation numbers of our sport.

Miron is right. Even if we have 3 major sponsors chipping in 10m, we need to find more and can’t be dependent on them.

Because as a professional he wants to see his term out as you would if you don't want a disjointed transition. Wouldn't expect anything less.

+xMiron is right. Even if we have 3 major sponsors chipping in 10m, we need to find more and can’t be dependent on them. The pulling power and influence of the Lowe's to gain sponsorship and government support should not be under-estimated. It is a major loss. As for Bonita..........bitter till the very end.

Government support by the lowys appears overstated given the ffv article and the millions we’re missing out on in Victoria alone.

I read somewhere that former Labor politician Stephen Conroy is being touted as Lowy's replacement.

In my view the article that suggests the $6.3m is at risk is baseless. The NAB sponsorship has continued on and been increased following Healy leaving NAB so why would they suddenly pull out? The only influence the Lowys might have on Scentre Group's sponsorship is as 3% share-holders and Steve Lowy being a non-executive director but I'd be surprised if they wanted to shed sponsorship of the women's game. Caltex will make their decision on continuing sponsorship on the benefits to them not on friendships in my view.

Personally I don't think they had a big role, but let's assume for a second that the Lowy's did have a big personal role in the sponsors that have been involved in Australian Football. We could then assume that the Lowy's also played a big role in who has not been involved in sponsorship in Australian Football. Companies that may have been keen to offer sponsorship but were declined due to being a competitor (in some way) to one of the board members other interests. Not saying it is the case, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a bit of that going on.
