Over 10,000 people turning up to that match in a city of 200,000, with a wider urban area of 420,000 (Porirua, the Hutt, etc - generous), and no other urban areas for miles. Around 2.5% of the entire wider urban area was in that stadium tonight. More than 5% of the city itself. Victory's attendance was 16,000, in a city of 5 million. Even if we half that accounting for City fans (again, generous), that's 0.3% of fans turning up. Wellington got more than EIGHT times their population to their game than the Victory. But it's apparently still not good enough lol

Brisbane being at the bottom end of the ladder doesn't help either. For overall good HAL crowd averages Brisbane must be part of the equation.

+xBrisbane being at the bottom end of the ladder doesn't help either. For overall good HAL crowd averages Brisbane must be part of the equation. Also need as new ground. No matter what, Brisbane and Suncorp are an abomination! Brisbane needs to ditch Suncorp quick smart. Might save them some money too. I continuously get roped in to attending Brisbane games from some friends, otherwise I would rather wash my hair.

But it's apparently still not good enough lol I agree with that you say and your numbers make perfect sense. When Brisbane played WSW in Mudgee, 5,067 people attended. The population of Mudgee is 10,923, so that's more than 46.38% of the town's population. When we finally rid ourselves of the Nix, we should set up a team in Mudgee. The Mudgee Pheonix. The other benefit is that I might be able understand the commentators when they broadcast from Mudgee.
