Watched APIA Rockdale yesterday.  APIA love playing them. Such a strong side on paper.  But hard to develop with Reid as coach and Petkovski/Petrillo at CB.
Wolves seem the real deal this season.

hope so  its been a long time since the wolves where on top of the ladder, we are as good as a lot of the aleague sides in the front 3rd but very shaky at the back

3-2 against your boys, with us grabbing the 3 points right at the death, always a tough place to get a win, and i am happy we did.

Not the best football on show but one of the most entertaining npl games I’ve seen in a while, despite the loss I still believe we could push for a top 5 spot if we gel a bit better a squad.  Decent atmosphere at Seymour as well.

Interesting to see a few of our fans who usually attend Sydney FC games as well as ours put us above them for a change.

We have a few injuries, but some players are back too... so unsure how we will take the field, but i expect a competitive side as our aim is always to make the past 32.

GRM are a decent side so we wont be taking it easy. i heard mileski is out injured?

cant wait to try that Souvla wednesday night.

From our FB :
Gladesville Ryde Magic F.C Official Site
 · On a Wednesday night under the Christie Park lights undefeated NPL3 High Flyers Gladesville Ryde Magic welcomed NPL1 juggernaut Sydney United. With a wealth of experience all across the pitch and a hungry and well structured team Magic did not have most of the possession but seemed to control the game, creating the better chances. With fierce quick combinations on the counter between Chris Gaitatzis, Christos Tomaras and newcomer Zoran Kolundzic, Gladesville Ryde Magic got their shots off in dangerous areas but the goal didn’t come. In the second half, Magic still kept their structure but United pilled on the pressure getting the ball out wide and trying to deliver a blow to the Magic defence. Cult figure and 5 time NPL3 Goalkeeper of the Year, Kyriakos Tohouroglou pulled off a couple magnificent saves but a bit over an hour of play Sydney United got the goal they were looking for and managed to hold on to the 1-0 lead till the end. It was a game enjoyed by the crowd that gathered on a cold Wednesday night and even though before the game a Sydney United win might have been the expected result, Gladesville gave a good account of themselves and will take pride in their overall team performance. Sydney United are into the next round of the FFA Cup and both teams will now focus on their respective league matches over the weekend with Magic looking to stay top of their league and United trying to close the gap to the top in NPL1.

So, Thanks SU supporters for the atmosphere, it was a pleasure hosting you and the team.
Looked like all enjoyed yourselves.
Telling factor as expected "fitness" difference.
We had our chances early with a full tank of gas.
Glad our fellas made you work hard for the win.
Good luck next round.
Love the Cup.

Love Football

So what happened on Saturday at Marconi? Was it Wanderers or SdyFC fans that turned up to cause trouble?
On the field, Marconi were ruthless in that first 30 min.

no idea.

there is footage floating around of a king hit attack from a marconi 20s player.

this isnt going to end well for both clubs.

I'd love to see that footage, if that's the case, player should be rubbed out for a long time. I still can't see that as justification for a large group of united supporters running a team Marconi supporters and stealing their banners, on 2 occasions mind you...

Marconi as a club needs to shoulder some of the blame, i guess they thought positioning 2 sets of active supporters within 30-40m of each other with nothing separating them was a good idea...lol it's as if they've never watched a football match from anywhere around the world before.

It wasn't a good look, but in my opinion, the jumping onto the pitch and pushing a player against wolves was far worse than a minor crowd scuffle.

I hope that footage also shows that the mug that got belted was trying to set fire to the Marconi banner and a young boy tried to stop him and got knocked over by the mug, if the mug didn't get his jaw broken he didn't get his full wages. The reason he was in that area was to set the banner alight, there were no Marconi supporters went into the Uniteds area.

on the field, it looks like the referee Tim Danaskos might of fuked up, issuing Mirjan Pavlovic 2 yellow cards but not sending him off, as he changed jersey numbers at half time???

Standard united defence - deflect, deny and make up excuses for poor behaviour. Always a case of x did this so we're allowed to do that in return. For a group that proudly displays a Vatican flag, I don't see much turning the other cheek...

so far from the truth, we had Mark Rudan for like 4 years, brought in Jason Culina who resigned on his own accord and we have had Miro Vlastelica ever since.

Another week and another result that could have gone our way with a bit of luck. Not going to be any easier away to Marconi this week.

In more troubling news our 18’s and 20’s are struggling too leaving us on the bottom of the club championship, still quite early in the season but looks like the relegation battle will be close this year.

All NPL 1 sides avoided each other in FFA cup, looks like the draw was done yesterday as they didn’t include results from late night.

Rockdale v Wollongong United probably the most interesting draw.

tough games.
meanwhile most NPL1 sides drawing park sides for first two rounds.

I would definitely count him, if he wasn’t called up as an injury replacement he would be an influential player for us regardless of the limited preseason he had with us.
