It is almost a crime at Lambert Park that they accepted money for tickets then to discover that the so called stand had been closed by the council. You had to either stand facing into the sun or in the club house 3 deep to look out a window. :(

There is actually plans to replace that stand that have been around for years as far as I know.  Maybe it's being closed in lieu of demolition.

why was it closed? I thought they don't have the funding yet for the grand cantilevered grandstand they were proposing to replace the chook shed.

My boy played a couple of games there last season & I whilst we were sitting in the chook shed ( good description ) a rusted 10cm piece of a protruding cross member fell off & clattered to the ground somewhere at the end.   If you take a good look up it's been rusted out for decades.    

However a friend of a friend told me that a inspection by Inner West Council was conducted either early last week or the week before & they were told to close it.

Dude the home of football VSP doesn't even meet their own criteria. No scoreboard on field 2, no seats on field 3

Our club has been informed only players and officials can attend the match at lambert tomorrow, not even the players families are allowed.

FNSW should be making a statement regarding lambert park today.

Yeah but I reckon the fact that you guys have had problems with them once or twice before would have sealed the deal there. 

60% of grandstand closed. APIA played Blacktown last week with the same situation in place and it was open to all.  Still more seats than Hakoah and Mt Druitt. 

The FC/United game was deemed high risk by FNSW and they took the easy option due to the violence at last years fixture.  Hence why game at 1pm too.  

Embarrassing, could’ve been moved to a number of grounds close by or even Edensor Park if not booked out. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s open again next week after some “repairs” have been carried out. 

Free after WSW yoof on saturday so they could have played a normal 3-5-7 round at Edensor
