Nice off drive from De Kock for 4.
The Aussie bowlers are struggling despite Starc bowling very fast.

pace just looks inocous on this pitch they might be better off aging the ball a bit

i feel if we can just take a couple of wickets in the next few overs a sub 300 is possible
Saffers don't bat deep
I worry the missed stumping could really cost us

its an effort that reminds me of his tight bowling against sri lanka when a poor start by cummins and starc looked to take the game away from us

If cummins is struggling to contain them its a good wicket
I'd bowl maxwell and smith more overs. Would take a brave captain I suppose

+x+xdorf spanked for 6 man that missed stumping hurt us Didn’t see the missed stumping, but sounds like it was decisive. Lots of things were South Africa were a batter short so we potentially keep them to 250 if he takes that stumping Lots of things decisive inhindsight The loose first 10 overs from oz. Bowling 10 more widespread than south Africa The missed stumping Bowling Maxwells 10th rather than giving starc his full allotment of overs Cummins having an off day Warner still getting his placement back (his timing and eye have been impeccable) Khawaja getting injured Stoinis getting runout (probably also injury) Maxwell coming in too early (not in great form and he has struggled before the 30th but even still if he gets his trademark 30 off 15 we win) It took everything to go right for south Africa and everything to go wrong for Australia to lose by only 10 runs Now we have some selection headaches with khawaja and stoinis injured Wade and mitch marsh the probable replacements

Good summary gb & injuries now make it interesting as we can bring in players from outside the squad. The positives from our bowling - Lyon a standout; Maxwell bowled with good economy x his last over. Question marks fielding; Not Finch's best captaincy; why was Smith only bowled 1 over; why was Maxwell bowled out. With the quick's getting pasted, bowl himself a few overs. Positives from our batting - Warner's 122; Carey's 85 & Stoinis going OK before run out. Negatives - Finch out for 3, before feet get moving again; Khawaja injured; Smith out for 7 before getting going; Maxwell out for 12 playing all over the place, totally unbalanced & the tail not doing much. Whilst SA took some brilliant catches, they have to be there to be caught. So going against England in the semis is going to be fascinating. Our quick's aren't performing, and too many of our batters are failing. Finch needs to score runs against the top sides - probably won't happen as they will work him over before his feet start moving. Warner if he keeps going will hopefully be a shinning light. Khawaja will be out injured & that could be a positive - Wade has been suggested? but is he a 3. Smith keeps on failing & at the moment is a negative - move him up to 3, bat Wade at 4 & pray. Bat Carey at 5 & if Wade plays who will keep? as Carey at the moment can hold his place as a batsman. Stoinis will probably be out injured, replace by M. Marsh. This will be a ? at 6 or 7 Maxwell will retain his place if not injured & bat at 6 or 7 but don't expect much from him. As I keep saying, he is a slogger with no foot movement & is being found out by the better bowlers. Bowlers will remain as is except for injury. The other option will be to bring Agar in but replace who?

Gday D4L, jaszyjim - nice to see someone finally agrees with me re Maxwell. According to others, without him the team is not balanced? Obviously the selectors are on the same page. How can someone who has done little in the last 4 games balance the team - it's ridiculous. Yes he can average 200, but only off 10 balls or so then he's out. Toss him out & bring Agar in. I find it so frustrating that the selectors don't face reality, Maxwell's time in the international's ODI's is finished - face it & move on.

350 or even 340 looking out of reach here
brilliant fight back from oz led by lyon and maxwell (who should have had a stumping)
apart from the stumping fielding probably saved some of that 20 we gave away early

an off day so far
mind you that 6 should be out
short boundaries are really unfair on the bowler, draw the mishit go for six anyway

a poor start, bowling maxwell one too many, carey's miss all cost us about 50
still it gives us a chance to bat on a road
only starc, lyon and maxwell have shown they can handle a road bowling so far
England have Plunkett who is an ordinary bowler in normal times but probably the best road bowler in the world

lovely 4 from carey
so important this period to keep the RRR under control since you are probably getting yorkers at the death

back to back dots to cummins at this stage
devastating
he has to find a way to rotate the strike at least
only 2 off 5 this over

wicket and 3 runs
2 big overs from south africa have probably put the game out of reach. That wicket maiden in the 39th and then this over

yorker gets starc

we gave away 20 too many early, fought back but rotten luck has spoiled us
still 1 wicket left and 7 balls left

probably stoinis is replaced before maxwell. Although Maxwell hasn't had a good world cup, he's still a touch ahead of stoinis
Speaking of which stoinis is injured and mitch marsh called in
Wade confirmed replacement for khawaja. Wade gives us flexibility if we think the pitch is a road.
