+x+x+x+xI think Strikers Andy Pengelly will get a hattrick against us, Bookies have Strikers as Fav against Nix. Safe bet tbh. Strikers are really strong this season. Not really. 4th in the QNPL but prob the strongest NPL side to face a A-League team this season. Bris Strikers are no Maitland. Look, don’t underestimate them but they’re a way off the best in NPLQ

All I know is the Nix are cuming into this game with the though of "another friendly" and the Strikers have the best goal scorer in the NPLQ. If Wellington win it would be the biggest upset for 2019/20.

+x+x+xEvery team is entitled to play the way it sees fit, decentric. There is no rule that says that all have to adhere to your template of contemporaneous post modern dream football.
I think 3-0 speaks for itself. I have some good news for you, Victor. They play a game called aerial ping pong in your home town of Adelaide. Port Adelaide and Adelaide Crows play a brand of egg ball decidedly superior to what Marconi play manifesting as association football. You could take up a membership for aerial ping pong. You'd love it, Victor! If Australia became world champs in association football playing the dross Marconi do, I wouldn't watch it. Take it down a notch Decentric. No need for that. I’m not sure what you mean? Victor might not be aware the Crows and Port play better football than Marconi. He might be happy taking out a season membership with one of them. He has always been a passionate devotee of Charles Reep and Charles Hughes.

Err, decentric… I thought that we are laying off the personal abuse now? Pull your head in, or face a ban! And try reading people's posts before laying on the heavy handed sarcasm. Yes, Marconi are bad, you have said so over and over and over- we get it! No abuse on my part. Just elucidating some options you might not be aware of, Victor. You could do a lot worse than take out a season membership with the Crows or Port.

Interesting the Strikers are lower down in the Q NPL ladder.
They have been the most impressive NPL team I've seen play live outside NSW and Vic NPL teams - and - better than most NPL teams in those states.
I was also impressed with how small they were in stature compared to their opponents, South Hobart.
Football teams don't need lots of big lumps in them to be successful.

Strikers are in a bit of a lull at the moment, probably the cap/points scheme working against them as they were champions fairly recently. The two better sides are both recent promotions, Lions and Pen Power, and both are very, very good. It will be interesting to see see who gets the Div 2 slots from QLD. None have stadiums that meet minimum requirements so it’s going to be a bit of a lottery

Wellington travel without Davila, Sotirio and Fenton. Using academy players in there place - Strikers must be licking there lips with a easy win coming up.

So, to set the record straight, I am not a devotee of Reep and Hughes (advocates of long ball football)
I never said I was a fan of Marconi's style. I said they were entitled to play that way if they wanted to..
And I hate AFL football.
You really shouldn't attempt humour decentric, it doesn't come naturally to you.

+x+xI fancy Brisbane Strikers knocking the Nix out..should be a good match. Pengelly has scored 36 goals this season, just broke the NPL Qld record. Nix are deff the underdog in this match, Wellington are just treating this game like a friendly so I doubt they will put out a strong starting 11. Not true. Stop making stuff up. Personally I think the Nix will win even if they still have a few signings to make and a few players missing through injury.

One tries to help a bloke and elucidate some options for a sport he might not be aware of, and this is all the thanks one gets. Last time I try to help you, pal. Given you've been so critical of a national style of football in Australia within a holistic paradigm, which you've been a strident critic of, one can only draw the conclusion you advocate the Reep/Hughes approach.

+xAnyone fancy the jets to beat victory? I think the Jets should win this one. MV basically doesn't have a midfield. Unless I'm missing anyone, it's basically Lesiotis, Hope and Kamsoba. Our strongest 11 (given Kruse isn't playing) would be: Thomas Roux, Deng, Brox, Brown Lesiotis, Hope, Nabbout, Kamsoba, Toivonen, Athiu

I wonder if anyone in the last 2 or 3 pages of this thread meet the criteria as outlined in this thread by a person riding a particularly high horse. http://forum.insidesport.com.au/2819125/High-quality-of-this-cricket-forumConversely, some posters in Inside Sport Cricket also post on the Inside Sport FTBL forum. It has declined so much in recent times that a plethora of erudite posters have left in droves to be replaced by many young, infantile and immature trolls, and, some grumpy old men who are rampant cynics seeking conflict.

“I think we have a team which can really take the game to Wellington and with the home support behind us hopefully we can come away with an upset.” Firm favourites for this match, Strikers should really put on the show here and dick us 4-0.
