+x+xCongrats. Did you end up putting money on it? Gutted we conceded late like that. Harold had a decent game. Brimmer wad alright but turned it over a little too much. Tratt did pretty poor and Franjic was horrible on the left. Fornaroli and Castro showed glimpses. Cant wait to see Ikon combine with them. Look forward to seeing more of Olster...hope he gets more of a look. Didn't one or more Perth player get red cards after the whistle was blown? Looks like some of these Perth players are bad losers. Looking at Castro, Kilkenny and Franjic. Don't think Popa will be impressed. Franjic got carded. Poor showing from him. Just read Lowry is on the way to Qatar as well. Was an underated piece of our premiership last season. Another blow. Spira signing another contract is more vital now. Wilson did a decent jon though...would like to see him further develop as one of the CBs.

Well that sucks. I was hoping to go to both games. Against Heartle$$ to heckle them because the CFG seem to think they own the league because they own a club in Oz.

Why doesn't the FFA website have match highlights to all the games in the round of 32... :S

+x+xNice strike from Mo Adam. Impressed with the young fella! It's been a great night for young players. Toure played well and scored and assisted a goal. Pacifique Niyongabire showed a couple of glimpses of brilliance off the bench. Langlois scored a cracker for Newy. Courtney-Perkins and Akbari apparently had good games for Roar. + the debuts of Gabriel Popovic and Trent Ostler, a start for Joel King, start for Cam Devlin, Thurgate played, starts for Grozos, Tass and Baccus, debut for Mo Adam. Very positive.

+xI hope Sydney United vs wsw is a cracking game and the fans don’t fight So positive! There has more trouble at AFL games than WS Wanderers games. There will a number with inner conflict. Not sure about Sydney United fans. And it will most likely that it will be played at Edensor Park which is currently the home of the WS Wanderers NPL2 and academy teams.

It will be interesting to see what they do with the Olympic FC home game next round. Olympic's lighting isn't up to the PFA standard (which in itself is a joke) and the Strikers will be at Perry Park. I'm guessing they split them over a couple of weeks? Also throw in Roar at home and it is a veritable cupathon for SEQ.

Also throw in Roar at home and it is a veritable cupathon for SEQ. There’s two matchdays and two games will be at Perry Park. Roars game will almost certainly be taken back to Dolphin if it’s available, where they’ll smash the 6,100 crowd they got last season.

I’m just saying wsw has a lot of momentum at the moment game against Leeds, beating Perth now a match against Sydney is huge we don’t need negative headlines to choke out the momentum before the first match at the new stadium

Yet the dickheads inspected and passed many pitches that were a million times worse for A-league games, most recently the disgustingly dangerous pitch at Spotless. The FFA are nothing but a lying bunch of idiots with double standards who have no idea whatsoever how to promote football in Australia. Not only would it have been great for atmosphere, but you would imagine Sydney United would have made a very healthy profit on the night.

Thats actually fucked if we miss out on WSW away at Edensor because of fucking FFA hypocrisy. Honestly what is the point of even having a cup in the first place if the bureaucrats are going to just ruin all the things we look forward to in it anyway?

Initially I was spewing that I was going to miss out because I'll be in America, but now I couldn't care less. I most likely would have watched it from home even if I was here sinking because it's been moved. I won't accept that the pitch is unsafe to play on when I know very well had it been CCM that had been drawn to play you guys, then the game would have went ahead at Edensor Park. It's a bullshit excuse and I don't buy it for a second.

Sydney were comprehensively outplayed last night & Jamie Young had an outstanding game. Kudos to whatever Fowler is doing at the Roar, they looked sharp.

+xWhen will the R16 take place? Edgy v Newy is gonna be hilarious and SU58 v WSW will be great viewing. Great draw all round! Sorry to say this, Marconi, but given the current manifestation of Marconi, I hope Melbourne City bury your lot in the interests of football purity. I'm sure some Marconii teams of the past have been much easier on the eye than the current manifestation. It is not only me, but the general consensus in the Hobart football milieu is that Marconi are the worst team we've seen, in terms of playing style in Tas from some time from other states. Notwithstanding , often Italian national teams are one of my favourite teams to watch. They play brilliant counter attacking football that is almost impossible for anyone else to play anywhere near as well.

That really sucks about Edensor Park! If they were capable of hosting SFC a few seasons ago they could've coordinated logistics with WSW.
Many dodgy pitches have been passed before by the FFA so it does seem fishy.

+xSydney were comprehensively outplayed last night & Jamie Young had an outstanding game. Kudos to whatever Fowler is doing at the Roar, they looked sharp. What rubbish, both teams were rubbish. Roar had a team full of big and aggressive players. A team of Roy O'Donovan's. They pressed well but created little, however they took their chances. One off a lucky deflection and the other capitalising on a defensive mistake. The fact that Young was the man of the match shows Sydney created more opportunities. SFC were very complacent and ineffective across the park yet Alfie still could have easily had a hat trick, Kosta missed a sitter and Baumjohann could have scored a couple too. Sydney looked jetlagged after the trip to China and having half a dozen players with gastro may explain the unusually poor game from O'Neil, Wilkinson etc I don't really see a big, strong, fit and physical side being able to dominate an entire aleague season. Clubs will figure them out and their one dimensional play and lack of creativity will see them floundering near the bottom of the ladder. They did force Redmayne into a couple of good saves but i'd say only 4-5 scoring chances in the game, of which they converted 2. All in all a disastrous game for Sydney. Ninkovic and Grant getting injured. Ninko possibly out for a few months. Corica was shown to be woefully inept with his subs. Losing 2-0 and he keeps his striker (with 6 goals in 4 preseason games) on the bench, bringing on a RB a LB and a DM despite our attack floundering and being wasteful. That's not how you chase the game. He never really seemed interested in winning last night and just stood still and silent with his arms folded all night. We lacked leadership last night and having Corica and Wilko leaves us severely lacking in vocal leadership. If everyone just quietly goes about their business then nothing will change. There's no passion or aggression in any of SFC's players and this was something Brosque provided when needed. Still the ease with which sydney carved Brisbane open was pleasing and i'm really not sure why Brisbane fans are acting like they dished out a masterclass, Perhaps just winning a game has that effect when it's been a long time between drinks. But if Sydney had our shooting boots on we score at least 6 goals last night.
