Because of his history with the FA Cup, and the players he has got, I'm expecting the Roar under Fowler to give it a good shot. Whoever beats them will win, or it will be the Roar! Would love it to be BR v AU.

that would be a great boost for brisbane i feel whichever team wins it gets a real boost with their attendance

It’s always hard to say - who wouldn’t have bet on one or more of Glory, Sydney and Victory making the finals yet they’re all out.

R32 is the trickiest to navigate as squads are new for HAL sides and often incomplete.

Roar v Mariners will give us an idea if their win away to Sydney was a fluke or if there’s substance behind them.

Adelaide, Wanderers, City have to be firming as favourites but if they get through to R8 two of them could be drawn against each other in the rigged draw so it counts for naught really.

No fluke - they're well structured, defensively strong and appear fit.

“How an old trophy found a new home Michael Lynch August 17, 2019 — 4.54pm The FFA Cup is now a sought-after trophy that has quickly established a place in the Australian game, uniting teams from the second-tier competitions against those in the A-League. But long before the FFA Cup there was the Australia Cup – an equally sought-after trophy contested during the 1960s. Well, it was, until its last winners, Sydney Hakoah, lost track of it following their success. The cup disappeared for decades, only to be discovered in a rubbish skip in 2011 by builders who were carrying out renovations at the Hakoah club in Sydney. On Sunday the cup will find a permanent home when FFA chairman Chris Nikou attends the Caroline Springs George Cross (formerly Sunshine GC) versus Preston Lions NPL game and leaves the trophy in the safe keeping of the George Cross adminstration. George Cross won the cup in 1964 and is one of three Victorian clubs to win this trophy alongside Slavia and Melbourne Hungaria, neither of which exists anymore. The presentation marks the club's move to new state-of-the-art facilities at Caroline Springs, which will also be used as a training base by fledgling A-League team Western United. Western United will play their first pre-season game at the same venue next Thursday when they take on George Cross in a friendly. The FFA Cup continues midweek when the round of 16 gets under way. Two Melbourne sides will be involved: NPL club Moreland Zebras and Melbourne City. The Zebras have a terrific chance of making the last eight when they host Queensland club Magpies Crusaders, while City will travel to NSW to take on former NSL powerhouse Marconi Stallions.”

Heading alone to Olympic FC v Adelaide this week at Perry Park which is always great. Should be an absolute cracker!
Roar v CCM next week should be good also and should be a decent crowd. Hoping we have Amadi-Holloway and O'Neill are fit for selection.
