8 points to make up in 5 games. Nah.

Does the Cup give you an ACL slot?

No ... the winner of the Emperor Cup (their FA Cup) is given a spot, but not the winner of the JLeague Cup (which appears to be a comp run purely between JLeague clubs).

Ange is now only 2 games away from leading Yokohama F.Marinors to the K-league title.

The only problem is the next two games are probably the toughest games of the season, away to Kawasake Frontale in 4th place, and then at home on the final day to 2nd placed FC Tokyo.

I wish him luck, it'll be huge for him and his managerial career if he can do it.

Minor correction, it's the J-League not the K-League.

Mathematically it could be only one game away. If Yokohama defeats Kawasake next week and FC Tokyo lose to Urawa (13th placed so not likely), Yokohama win the title regardless of the final round result. If it does go down to the final game, the good news is that it is a Yokohama home game and they have had an excellent home game results this season.

You would have thought someone would show the CSL when Cahill and other Socceroos were running around, or the ACL final on right now, but alas.

Almost certainly the final 2 matches will be live on Rakuten Sports app but yeah i would prefer if a tv station could show it. Like previoisly said if FC Tokyo lose this weekend and Yokohama beat Kawasaki they win the league with a game to spare. Its firmly in Ange's hands.

That is exactly what i am hoping for this weekend then the last vs FC Tokyo match will be an absolute party. Urawa have to try and get a result also so they can stay out of that relegation playoff spot.

Imagine losing the ACL final and getting relegated within a fortnight, despite being the best supported club in Japan. Hope Urawa come good.

Arsenal have officially put up the "help wanted" sign.

You guys know where Wenger was coaching before Arsenal signed him?

Won't happen though, obv.

The Wenger from Japan comparison has been on my twitter so thought I would look into it. He had previously been managing in French Ligue 1 with Monaco and under him they made a Champions League semifinal in 1993-94. Apparently Bayern Munich were after him at the end of that season.

Ange's previous European experience is minimal so it is very likely that he won't even be looked at by a bigger EPL club. If Arsenal listed 50 coaches to get in contact with I would be surprised if he even made the list.

If coaches such as him want to break into the bigger club jobs and it would be a good idea to club hop again to somewhere in a less high profile league in England/Europe where success would be opening a number of doors. Personally I would be aiming for getting a contract locked in for bigger $$$ in Japan and trying to become consistently successful. Given Ange's history I suspect he will get itchy feet sooner rather than later so who knows.
