Sortorio Hooper, Ball Seems serviceable enough, need to make wellington a fortress I'd go this way, in a 4 2 3 1 formation: Marinovic Fenton Devere Taylor (c) Cacace Rufer Steinmann Ball Davila Sotirio Hooper Davila is dangerous in the middle; Ball is versatile, can link up inside, and a natural scorer; Sotirio is very good at linking up insider; Two quick fullbacks.

+xi reckon you guys will beat sydney this week If Hooper gets alot off minutes otherwise the team struggles to score goals from open play, i think we have more chance against a team that wants to play though rather than a team like victory that just want to park the bus.

Phoenix have grown into a much better team and they have goals in them with Davila, Hooper, Ball, Devlin, Cacace, McCowatt and Taylor- in set pieces

Phoenix have grown into a much better team and they have goals in them with Davila, Hooper, Ball, Devlin, Cacace, McCowatt and Taylor- in set pieces Davila is the highest goal scorer for the nix and most of his goals come from the spot, which is great because the Phoenix have historically been terrible at pens and set pieces. But you can't say that anyone is free scoring from open play, Hooper changes that equation because even if he doesn't score himself he can get assists and draws defenders off the other players. I'm not saying the Phoenix aren't good, they are, but I wouldn't put money on them beating Sydney unless Hooper gets substantial minutes because they are struggling to score from open play.

Hooper is a bum, he has done nothing all season but be injured and scored 1 pissy tape in goal with his head. Wasted funds right there needs to be released in Jan and replaced with the Japanese guy.

David Dome was on the Phoenix city podcast a week or so back, it was pretty interesting and worth a listen. - Phoenix are still paying the players but would have struggled to hit next months payroll without the Fox money, they've dropped all staff to 80% wages now. - They're looking to invest more in their academy next season and expand it. - They were close to getting a W-League team (which would have been based in Australia) and they're still pushing for it but their partner in it has taken a big hit with the pandemic. - Hoping to keep the team together and get all players back (rumors were that Hooper, who's in the UK, wasn't coming back). - Owners are still supporting the team despite the hit to their other businesses and want to keep the team together and well resourced.

Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, the club has made the difficult decision to base the squad out of NSW for the start of the 20/21 season but will review the potential to play games in NZ later in the season if a trans-Tasman bubble opens. 📰: https://t.co/JIwDDOilLM— Wellington Phoenix (@WgtnPhoenixFC) October 26, 2020Club GM David Dome has told @newstalkzbsport that some players and staff will take their families and / or partners with them to Australia for some or all of the season and the club is helping to facilitate that.— Jason Pine (@pineyzb) October 26, 2020

New kid from Sydney Olympic and Marconi of late, Charles Lokoli-Ngoy, a Striker / RW. Must be to cover Sotirio and to add more competition for spots in the front third. Well, better get a CB as well now. Devere gone for months.

Phoenix might be able to play back at home from April 12 due to easing up on restrictions. It will come down to crowd restrictions which haven't been decided upon although, the NZ gov are looking at it. It would be healthy for the A League if they can do what Glory have done and play at home.
