So what was the rationale behind FFA scheduling the March 4 game against Perth not only on the same day as the Clipsal 500, but also kickoff in the afternoon during the race?

We don't have natural width with the players we have, hence the 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 systems have failed us. We lost Dodd, Leckie, Pantelis and Slory, the first two we've missed the most.
As for the Champions League, I am so sick of this ongoing shit with Persipura. I wouldn't have minded being drawn into a play off with them, if they had been drawn with the rest of the competition in December. The issue I have most is that it gives the players no definitive prep time at all. Sure, we should beat them comfortably, but it's the premise that pisses me off so much.

I NEVER watch the game as it bores the crap out of me and 1 minute of any commentary just makes me shout at the radio/TV and raise my blood pressure through hate of the commentary team. I just give it the same respect I and football got throughout my years at high-school and the respect shown to our game in the here & now by ARF spokesmen/celebrities like Barassi, McGuire, Quatermain, Sheedy, Demetrio etc... ok found it! Kosman wrote: “It has told me a lot about what we’ve really got in terms of playing personnel but also what we’ve got in terms of character,” Kosmina said.
“(I learnt that) we struggle when it gets a bit tough. Things don’t go right for us and we drop our heads too easily, way too easily.
“In the first 15 minutes you won’t see better football than that anywhere in the league at the moment – it was unbelievable. We could have been three goals up after 15 minutes, but you don’t take your chances and look what happens.
“You go down the other end, you go to sleep, you make silly mistakes – school boy mistakes that shouldn’t happen at this level.”
The Reds coach also refuted any suggestions that a third game in eight days had caught up with his team after their midweek match in Bathurst.
“Look at the first 15 minutes – they didn’t look tired then. They didn’t look tired at the end of the game either, Perth looked more tired than us.”
Going into next Friday night’s home game against second placed Wellington Phoenix, Kosmina knows the only result that will be acceptable.
“We’ve got to win at home. You can write this one off, we got a bad one out of our system,” Kosmina said.
“It has been a hard week, we could have had nine points, we should have had nine points if you look at the way we played, and we got one, so we’ve got a bit of work to do and a bit of chasing to do and we’ve got to win next week.
“They (the players) are good enough to do it, they’ve just got to believe it. I certainly do but I don’t know if they do and that gets back to this new culture change that was generated 12 months ago when the whole team was shifted out for no apparent reason.”
But seriously, it was way better on camera.

It did firm for me that Kossie is a perfect fit for the football director role more than first team coach though  lol it was a cracking conference ey! Where might one be able to still watch this? I saw it on Fox. Unfortunately the match replays don't repeat the post game conferences (and from memory you dropped Foxtel anyway so no point). Sorry i can't find any video. There was a transcript of what he said in an article floating around here but i can't find that either!

Yellow cards
Glory: Vukovic, Pantelidis, Burns, van den Brink, Hughes.
Ratings out of 10:
Coach - John Kosmina - 6 - The boss was at his wits end when watching Djite miss a hatful of chances and his defence commit elementary errors.
1. Eugene Galekovic - 5 - Tried to get his side motivated during the half-time break but it was all in vain.
14. Cam Watson - 4 - Went into his shell after his throw in across the penalty box caught Mullen in possession for the first goal.
2. Osama Malik - 5 - Sprayed some pretty passes and was sadly involved in Glory's second goal.
3. Nigel Boogaard - 4 - Also involved in Glory's second goal and was one of the four defenders surrounding Smeltz before he scored the opener.
5. Daniel Mullen - 4 - Was nervous with Smeltz hovering to allow the goal machine possession to score.
18. Fabian Barbiero - 5 - Was full of running and gave Glory hell in a spell which failed to produce goals for Adelaide.
9. Serginho van Dijk - 5 - Was unselfish and perhaps should have pulled the trigger rather than square the ball to Djite before he hit the post from point blank range.
10. Dario Vidosic - 5 - Was good from set pieces and was pivotal in the eight minute spell which failed to produce goals for Adelaide.
11. Bruce Djite - 4 - A night to forget.
17. Iain Ramsay - 6.5 - Offered hope with his mazy runs.
SUBSTITUTES:
20. Mark Birighitti - N/A
15. Jacob Melling - 5 - Was full of endeavour and not overawed.
21. Pancho Usucar - N/A
13. Ricardo da Silva - N/A.

Djite also said Lev is back and traning full time and should be playing this week so should be interesting to see how he goes now.
mullen basically said yes we get tired towards end of games which got a bit of criticism people saying they should man up and push through it play with more guts you cant use tiredness as an excuse.
Mullen wont be playing this week he is off to the olyroos so i have no idea who will replace him with our injuries.
also thought it was funny graham cornes said i do not see how 442 is a diamond it is more like a triangle...
which djite then tried to explain it

which made djite reply with no you don't....ahhh thick afl blokes lol which i thought was funny

Edited by liverpoolfan2010: 27/1/2012 09:28:41 PM We can't make such a broad-brush statement as " thick AFL blokes " Sure some are thick, but so are many blokes that play Football. We have to remember that all 18 positions in AFL are fixed, cover the ENTIRE field and have been for ever. The concept of having two teams with their own half and each team having tactical positioning to outwit their opposition to attack the goal and field that they are defending, is foreign to a game where grovel/wrestle on the ground > 70% of the time kick in hope to a pack and trust a bloke wearing your uniform jumps higher > stop > kick the ball as high as you like between two big sticks ( if you miss you're still rewarded with a point ) Granted, for the life of me I can't understand how anyone with intelligence sees anything in it? But whatever floats your boat?

The biggest worry vs CCM was the defence. Mullen had an absolute shocker. By that I mean he was completely MIA. Boogard had a fairly off game but was at least getting in the way. Where was Mullen? Worst game he has played since Kossie took over. And I hate to say it as he seems like such a nice kid, but Watson really offers us nothing as a RB. Too often he gets caught the wrong side of the man he should be marking and we all know his only pass is back to Boogard. Every. Single. Time. Very important two games now vs Newcastle and Perth. I would not take Golec out of position as a RB. Pure left footer, not much of a right foot on him. He could do well on left side of central defence, and Mullen or Susak as RB options.
