It would be a travesty if McGree was to sign for Xanthi

Surely Brook stays in Adelaide given he’s unproven at aleague level, going to the UK will not suit his style at all maybe Holland or Germany would be better for him?
Mo Toure must have well in his short stint to get interest in a country like France, shows scouts in Europe are still willing to look at the young talent in Australia.

His mother is Dutch and he played youth football in Holland in his early teens, would have expected him to go to Holland first 100%. But on the other hand, I think he has the ability to be successful wherever he goes.

On the one hand Xanthi can let McGree get settled but Greece isn't exactly the place for certainty. I fear such a move would stain his CV and there'd be some doubt cast by potential European clubs. I'd much rather he go the direct route somewhere.

Lachlan Brook linked with Brentford, not sure what to make of that they are pretty good club coming up. Maybe its the consequence of the uncertainty of the aleague, but he should get game time here then play for the u23s at Brentford?

They are an excellent developmental club, not the type of club where they will sign talented youngsters willy-nilly with no plan for them to reach the first team. They don't stockpile talent. They don't have a youth team, just 1 B Team, which plays against first teams and U23 teams from all over Europe. It would be a great move.

Do you think he's a realistic chance of making the first team? Its not that easy in the Championship. I noticed they have a danish influence with the coaches and players too which is interesting.

They're owned by Midtjylland's owner, hence the Danish connection. Yes, I think he has a realistic chance of making the first team, not immediately, but eventually. Brentford don't sign players they don't think have a realistic chance.

Why play for Brentford B when you can play first team football week in week out at the best club at developing youth in the A-League?
I’m no expert but it’s seems like staying at Adelaide is a no brainer.
Everyone raved about Pasquali playing youth football for Ajax only to return to the A-League and barely played.

Binyam Kebede (Striker) and Daniele Bressan (CM/CDM- same mould as Gomulka) are just two of the standouts in the NPL this season for AU Youth. Bressan hasn't played for the last few weeks not sure whats happened there. But they have a lot of very young kids playing, who definitely hold their own against their adult opponents. wouldn't be surprised if Veart chucked them in to the senior team every now and then.

Degenek’s move to Belgium is now apparently off with Red Star backflipping and now wanting him for the Europa league group stages as they think they could make the knock outs. I have bloody already bought FIFA for the first time in three years and was hoping to use him Sainsbury and Vukovic in Ultimate team and he has really gone and screwed me. It’s selfish how they haven’t thought about how this decision effects me. https://www.republika.rs/sport/fudbal/233339/zvezda-potvrdila-megapreokret-slucaju-degenek

I don’t watch the youth team but Kebede seems to be scoring a lot. Apparently Dom Costanzo has been dominating since being released from our youth team as well. Do you think the likes of Noah Smith and Yared Abetew could break into the first team?

Young A-League Player of the Year and Adelaide United and Olyroos star Riley McGree has joined English Championship club Birmingham City on loan from MLS expansion franchise Charlotte FC.McGree signs for Charlotte but the new expansion franchise based in North Carolina isn't set to join the MLS until 2022, so they've immediately loaned McGree to Championship club Birmingham City.

Very interesting with McGree. Do Charlotte and Birmingham have the same owners?
A full MLS gig isn't exactly bad but I'd have much preferred Europe full time.

Plenty of posts and interviews on Birmingham Facebook. I've never been so mixed about a move.
Birmingham are stacked for midfielders. Unfortunately even if he scored once every other game and won the FA Cup with them there's no way anything would stop him from going to Charlotte. I guess this is the he kills it in his first two MLS years and then hopefully the move we all hope for comes out.
Good luck to him and the positive is there should be a lot of higher level football to come.
