Buhagiar may get a run in the ACL but in the aleague he's useless. And he's not young he's almost 23! He suits teams that sit deep and counter. Which may be us in the ACL, but in the aleague we can't and don't play like this. Let him go and focus on the actual young strikers we have like Ivanovic and Wood.

Buhagiar is not a good player. As stated above, give time to ivanovic and wood. Whether we like it or not we can’t go far in the ACL.

Trent B is not a striker, to me Pat Wood has got greater potential but Sydney Fc's policy isn't known for bringing young players into the first team unless through injury.
Even Ivanovic hasn't been given enough chances outside of 5 minutes of the bench so im not sure if he can handle the ACL level.

It sure will be interesting to see how they'll handle far better defense and mids in the acl. Great test for them thats for sure.

Yay! Go Sydney! Let’s boast about our academy and then refuse to play them! Wow! Great idea! Go Steve and Danny!

If those youngsters that SFC let go happen to become stars at the clubs they've gone to or transfer too, then fair play. If not. This is living proof of one of the many core problems in Australia. Right there. In which other country does a young (17yo) striker who claims golden boot in a second division comp. not be seriously considered for the main striking position in a first division team. This would send alarm bells ringing to any first division team anywhere else in the world.

Of course you want an experienced international striker who is better than AL defenders

Would Liverpool drop Mo Salah, Sadio Mané or Roberto Firmino just because they have a talented 17 year old doing well in their youth team? Sydney are indisputably the best club in the country, their first team is and should be their best XI.

What I'm trying to say is. Would Premier League clubs not bat an eyelid if a 17 year old won golden boot in the championship? of course they would. Every top division in Europe would take notice. Regardless of if he's in a youth team or not. They clearly have the talent to play at a higher level.

Time for these younger players to go to another A League club to get an opportunity if they are not given some decent game time. I fully understand Corica's thought process, but if he goes down that path then the younger players not getting an opportunity need to move on to develop.

As mentioned by one or two I get Bindys POV but I also cringe how we leave promising youth hardly getting any game time that they thouroughly need to keep developing. I expect its due to our wonderful system BUT why can't our Clubs "loan" out young up and comers as they do elsewhere. LFC have a number out on loan that they can't get a spot in the 24man squads at present but as its been the norm these young promising blokes/kids get important snr game time elsewhere. Such a waste these kids being on the bench and then hardly used so annoying. Others have left the Club before such as Dimi and others prior to he, Blackwood was another.

Charles Lokolingoy won the golden boot, George Blackwood won the golden boot, doesn't mean they will be ready to play 1st team football. Buhagiar and Ivanovic are getting a chance to impress but they need to really grab it if they want to become a starting player. I think either is a chance to challenge Barbarousis but Sydney still needs to replace Lefondre with equal quality. For me, the regret is not seeing Tilio getting a proper chance or someone like Iredale and Burgess.

My problem isn't just with Sydney FC in this instance it's the whole system that is the issue.. I have no issues with Buhagiar and Ivanovic in particular btw. I just think Pat Wood, could be a great example of how broken the Australian youth set-up, transfer market and lack of N2D is if he doesn't get any game time during ACL or next AL season. And yep totally agree with Tilio, Iredale and Burgess thats how the OZ system works unfortunately.
