The NRL & Peter Vlandys completely missing the mark with the proposed standing on suburban grounds the heartland of community and the presence of the suburban warfare of rugby league

There is a distinct difference between the club's indicated that have a retrospective piece of community built into there DNA. Fans aren't asking for mini-mega stadiums that are devoid of character without a hill or local keepsake that makes their home ground feel so unique.. the recent conceptual development of Manly Sea Eagles home ground being right on the money! But the association and ownership of a team has to relate to the people within said community teams like nthqldcowboys SeaEagles PenrithPanthers have the unique advantages of stability in their location and community base.

The development of the game, leading fans back to the grandstand has to relate to the people within the local jurisdiction allowing that sense of ownership developing access to the club.

Our fans thrive on the passion that is built on the back of hard work and development to install rugby league as the greatest game on earth they deserve nothing less than the best when optioning that piece of turf that stands for so much more than a few bums on seats!

As it stands what team plays out of Liverpool?

The NRL has missed the mark entirely, nothing will change by making multiple clubs play out of the same venue to ensure these grounds are adequately used based on funding..

There has to be a reflection on community and that's just not happening with the current plans.

With the current infrastructure spending to create jobs and focus on our economy the conversation has to be had to get the right amount of funding to do the right thing by these projects and get it done right instead of minor upgrades that do nothing for Rugby League

The demand from fans was to push for suburban grounds to be redone! Huge benefit for local and state revenues...

Going back to community ties/local footy ties/suburban grounds - NRL clubs would have no problem fielding 3 grades if the main game filled out #adayatthefooty pushes the same opinion for most

More must be done to ensure people are turning up on gameday!!

Our game needs a kick in the pants to evolve into what it should be as the premier game in NSW - talent pool is massive numbers should reflect the dollars $$$

Now to focus on ensuring the hill isn't touched and investing in the other 9 suburban grounds - they create a standing of the teams within the community and it shows on gameday.

Sunday footy and suburban grounds is a huge draw card, with peak times more should be done to elevate crowd figures

If you think Leichhardt is special talk to footy teams that are still lucky enough to have a suburban ground in play

You want to develop the fanbase stop telling people what they want.. it's a debacle knowing that suburban grounds have been overlooked and developed to push fans into a "cheaper alternative" the community association of the NRL relies on people turning out on game day!

Awesome to see the NRL taking the game back to the people creating enterprising local footy and building through community

Have to say with the NRL willing to create innovate and build there is no limit to how big the game can grow

Rugby League lives in the veins of many it just needs to option game day as an event so many options to install community bearings and enhance the product!

Fair to say 15k at Kogarah does more for the game then 25k at one of the bigger stadiums - massive difference in gameday experience television rhetorical effect on the community turn hype into dollar signs at the gate #spendapennymakeapenny

Footy clubs NEED local support and you can't have that travelling 20km to a ground with no heart or passion running through it. The game can't be run off the back of a successful game between the most competitive clubs want people to sit through the cold days/nights we have to provide more.

Let's talk about NRL crowds in Sydney if we want to get serious about our standing in the landscape.

Seems to reason the agenda surrounds numbers at the gate - the game doesn't realise the flow on effect of being able to put up a sold out sign..

Peter V'landys flags move to new Liverpool stadium for Bulldogs and Wests Tigers

By Brett Graham - 3 months agoA major development is coming for a western Sydney football stadium.Australian Rugby League Commission boss Peter V'landys says he wants a new Bankwest-style stadium to be built at Liverpool, naming both the Bulldogs and Tigers as potential tenants.The New South Wales state government has decided to reallocate more than $800 million in funding that was originally earmarked to upgrade Stadium Australia, with the money to instead be spent on suburban grounds.Penrith, Brookvale and Kogarah are at the top of the list, with V'landys hopeful work could start in 2022."I think we can lock this in," V'landys told Radio 2GB's Ben Fordham."As you know there was $800 million set aside to upgrade ANZ (Stadium Australia), that's not going to happen, there will be some funds go to ANZ but the majority will be spent on suburban stadiums, the government has committed to doing business cases for three of them – Brookvale, Penrith and Kogarah."They will do that and once they complete (that), and I'm sure they'll be positive, they'll make announcements as to what grounds will be done."Hopefully, construction could start within the next 12 months."While Penrith appears to be the front-runner to re-built first, V'landys explained that any of the three could be the first cab off the rank."We haven't decided that, that's a discussion between us and government, I'm not discounting any of them," he said.

While three existing grounds have been nominated for a re-build, V'landys also threw up the possibility of a new ground."We also want one out in Liverpool where we can have the Bulldogs and possibly the Tigers," he said."By the time the strategy is finished, New South Wales and Sydney should have some of the best sporting facilities anywhere in the world, and we deserve them."Currently the Bulldogs play out of Bankwest and Stadium Australia, but a move to Liverpool has been touted for decades, as has a return to their spiritual home at Belmore.The club investigated the possibility of building a stadium at Liverpool in the late-1990's, a move that was abandoned when club legend Steve Mortimer became CEO in 2002.The Bulldogs Leagues Club already owns a site on the Hume Highway at Liverpool, adjacent to the Whitlam Leisure Centre.

The Tigers situation is even more complex. This season their Sydney home games are split between Leichhardt Oval (three matches in 2021), Campbelltown (three matches) Bankwest Stadium (three matches) and Stadium Australia (one match).With the Balmain faction unlikely to support a full-time move to Campbelltown, and the Wests side of the joint venture similarly opposed to more games at the run-down Leichhardt Oval, a 'neutral' venue at Liverpool could be the ideal way to solve the impasse and get the club a state of the art home ground."The suburban stadium strategy is the right one, you want people walking to the grounds, and more importantly you want to keep the money in the local economy, you want the restaurants and the cafes to benefit from having that stadium in their local precinct," V'landys said."It also serves other sports and schools and the theatre. League needs balance
As does AFL
there's a different world in Victoria but both passions run right through the public
League's own heartland has been lost by way of confusion select urban warfare taken on by the suburbs and a balanced comp you can gain on crowd numbers with success but you can't replicate what has been lost by trying to save money on mega stadiums and concrete jungles that may or may not fill depending on ladder position..
V'landys thinks the meaning of suburban footy is simply sticking a stadium in the suburbs deadset fuqking idiot the tribal negication between a manly and Parramatta the push against Roosters v Souths uppity communities v battlers working class v working class gang v gang club vs club the rhetorical question of family disparity..
Our family originated in Campsie just near Belmore moved to Greenacre now that was split through 3 or 4 generation of Bulldogs supporters that moved to Engadine Penrith and Granville the heart of the that family waived through Bulldog bred it developed out through 2nd and 3rd generation but the influence of local prowess played it part for the Sharks and Panthers respectively along with my family which grew up in Parramatta Bankstown but we're close enough to replicate itself through Canterbury Bankstown there is now a direct influence through sports schools and friends that replicate that passion
There's a need to influence our game on the back of that ownership of local heartlands you see this drive with clubs like Nth Queensland Newcastle Canberra etc etc there's a need to take ownership of a club and have it's home ground advantage of paved into the locals
The NRL have missed a beat trying to meet quotas reducing costs instead of developing structure and growing the live the of the game that runs through so many families!!

So it's common knowledge that most of the things I do are just for appearances. And in order to really do it, why should they?
