I wonder what Hrustic’s most natural position is? Seems he’s been played in a lot of different positions throughout his club career: RM, LM, #8, #10.
Always a positive if a player is versatile of course.

An Aussie keeper was on the bench for the opening round in the Uruguayan first division for CA Cerro. His name is Ricardo Rizzo. His old academy had a post about him signing back in March but it must have just been a 6 month or a youth contract because the club only posted about his 1 year senior contract today. https://mobile.twitter.com/CACerro_oficial/status/1350838431199490048

+x+xOut of curiosity – quick question (really two questions).... Do you follow/support/have a favourite club – either here in Australia and/or abroad (if yes, who)?? The reason I ask is I know you follow/support and have an interest in all things 'Australia NT' and 'Aussies Abroad', but I don't recall you saying whether you follow/support a particular club or not.... 🤔 Melb Heart/City- but not as club dedicated as you guys. Will watch any AL game Nice (re Melb City) 🙂 Regarding the part highlighted, - Smart move. It is a lot better for your health and mental state not to be as "dedicated" (your words) as some of us when it comes to the club's we support.

Full 90 for Ouzounidis in a 1-1 Merseyside derby in the U23.
Jay Rich-Baghuelou played the first 60 minutes in a 2-3 loss to Fulham U23.
Alex Robertson unused sub in a 0-4 win against Derby County U23.

Article on about Hrustic playing centre mid. https://www.fr.de/eintracht-frankfurt/die-tormaschine-liefert-90172399.amp.htmlFrom article: "There they weren't planning on the outside with him at all, he was too slow and not dynamic enough for that. Thanks to his good technique and his strong left foot, the midfielder is more likely to be someone who pulls the strings behind the tips or who can be called up in half positions." Also he played further back against schalke because a centre back got a "juicy horse kiss" which i guess is a corky. Hasabe was then moved to centre back and Hrustic was brought into a more defensive midfield role. Article also talks about how it shows the managers growing confidence in general to bring Hrustic in instead of a more defensive player. Thanks Johnszasz for posting him coming on. Was able to catch 20 minutes and thought he looked batter than the few times I saw him playing in the Netherlands.

That’s great insight on Hrustic ty. Too slow to play on the wing, but shines in central midfield positions due to his technique.
It’s pretty similar to Najjarine’s story actually - we’re seeing the best of him since he was brought centrally from the wings.

Weird.

Haha re Tyrese Francois, I actually sent him a PM on Instagram asking whether he was injured - he actually replied & said that he's had a niggling injury and and that he would be back in a couple of weeks. That was a couple of weeks ago so he should be playing very soon. Real shame that he got injured - great start to his season and played for Fulham's top team in a Cup game, so may have been getting close to selection for a Prem game

Shrewsbury vs Southampton tomorrow in fa cup. This is their first match for a while as covid swept through the squad, they still don't have their manager back yet. Do we know if millar is still with them?

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

The issue with Watts playing so early is his eligibility for Aus is through heritage so if he breaks through it will be another question of does he play for Aus or wait to see if England will give him a chance.
Croatia returned from their winter break overnight. Kalik started for Gorica in a 1-1 draw with last place Istra. Pretty disappointing as a win would have put them 1 point off league leaders Dinamo. The article i saw suggested Kalik may have been a last minute include with another midfielder pulling out late.
Sibenik plays Saturday. They played two friendlies over the break. Juric got got 45 and 60 minutes as expected and Grdic (young centreback) played 45 and 30 minutes so probably still a bench player.

Not sure if he's played for England's youth sides but im sure they will be looking at him more closely now.

+xThe issue with Watts playing so early is his eligibility for Aus is through heritage so if he breaks through it will be another question of does he play for Aus or wait to see if England will give him a chance. Honestly don’t see this as an issue with Watts. He was called up to an England U15 camp years ago but has since represented Australia for 2 years, played at an U17 World Cup, played at U19 level, his former U17 coach is now the national TD, he refers to Australia as “my country”, and is close friends with Ryan Teague (who he could play together with in the Socceroos midfield for 10-15 years). Moreover he plays in such a competitive position for England; Southampton’s captain and key player Ward Prowse plays in a similar position, has performed excellently in the PL for years and barely makes the England squad. There’s so much talent in that position that it is almost impossible to break through, and instead, for Australia, he will have the opportunity to play at maybe 2 Olympics and World Cups.

Weird that The World Game wbesite doesnt have any mention of Watts debut. If it was Alex Robertson they'd have articles up about it by now.
Wonder if this will lead to Watts getting a loan deal? Next FA cup match is against Arsenal and I just dont see them using him much in the first team (unless Covid hits the team). Ouzinidis played for Everton's u/23's this week and he is expected to be loaned out as Everton need to cut their wages bill.
