+x+x+x+x+x+xWatts needs to play in the olympics imo A first team game for an EPL team should justify Australia U23 selection, no doubt. Really, really dislike this type of thinking, pure eurosnobbery.... ultimately players should be reviewed and evaluated own their own individual performance rather than "ok yep played EPL, tick, lets pick him." Chris Herd, Con Blatsis, Nicky Rizzo, Richard Garcia and countless others all examples of players who got EPL action at a young age and showed that it means absolutely squat. Some of these were ok players like Herd and Garcia but judging from their EPL involvement at such a young age it was deduced that they would be stars but it simply didn't eventuate. Using simple logic we could say "ok well, Watts has played an EPL match now, but Robertson hasn't, so Watts must be better and must be picked over Robertson." The reality is a players ability shouldnt be judged by that given the myriad of factors at play ... for instance Southampton has a lot poorer squad quality than City and also Southhampton currently has a huge injury list so it's a case of right timing for Watts. The fact of the matter is though that Robertson is highly touted by many who have seen him play in england wheras apart from the Austrialian junior setup no one is touting Watts, he's a squad filler at current. Great news rapt for the kid but let's not get too carried away yet. Exactly this. Playing for a EPL club one FA Cup match doesn't mean you're an EPL level player so it doesn't neccassry mean he is better than other players in the Olympic squad. They don't pick players, who have just turned 19 that day, to play for a Premier League 1st team & START, unless they are exceptionally talented. Jacob Italiano played for the Olyroos at the AFC championship to qualify for the Olympics & he hasn't made his first team debut yet, so what's the difference. Watts is easily one of our brightest talents & should be picked along with Robertson. Timotheou started a bundesliga game for Schalke and he can’t crack Adelaide’s starting XI so I would be very wary about hyping him up. George was the exact name on my mind.

Young Tim Caroutas (Cornella) is on the bench in a cup game against Barcelona. Getting a decent amount of exposure with the senior team this season.

Don’t want to speak to soon, but the last couple of weeks has seen some positivity in AA. Let’s hope it continues.

Zach Duncan has signed a 5-year (!) contract extension with AGF.
They must really rate him, especially as he’s still a long way from returning from a serious injury, and he still had 3 years to run on his original 4-year deal.

So Brighton posted images of their goalkeepers on Twitter. Maty no where to be seen. Are they trying to rub it in his face or? did he bang Potters wife or something? this is incredible. https://twitter.com/OfficialBHAFC/status/1351839386669899779

A lot of talent gets lost because of a lack of opportunity talent alone is not enough.

That is absolutely 2 goals in 2 games for young Panagiotis - he’d been getting a few minutes off the bench, then scored in the second to last game (off the bench), and now started the last game and scored again. Get in there son 🤗

Mileusnic starting in a friendly
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Don't know if it was already mentioned, John Hutchinson is Ange's assistant at Marinos.

Runnarson also on the bench for Arsenal, so who is second choice, him or Ryan?

Arsenal 1-0. Hopefully they get pumped (few goals to Watts 🤞) so they give Maty a go

Zak Gilsenan with a hat trick for Blackburn 18s against Man Utd 18s. They were 3-0 down and Gilsenan has single handedly brought them back to 3-3. 10 mins left

Dougall unfortunately not in the squad for Blackpool’s FA Cup tie against Brighton.
Comments on Twitter saying he’s tested positive for covid but not sure if there’s any truth to that.

Potter really going on with the rotation. If survive he'll have blooded a fair few young players. I think it's more a question of whether he survives.
