+x+xIn Balkans everyone speaks English but the staff are all talking in Serb/cro etc. to be expected.
What gave you this idea? Most people in the Balkans speak very poor English. Karacic apparently can’t speak it at all and he’s meant to be Australian. I’ve been there about 20 times, have family from there. Half my mates are from there.

I’ve been there about 20 times, have family from there. Half my mates are from there. I agree with tsf. Almost all the people I know from the Balkans, many of whom were born and raised there, speak extremely good English. There's always going to be people who might not speak English, but you still find that in places like Singapore too. Regarding the whole Arzani and learning Dutch thing, it sounds like another excuse to me. When you move abroad you learn some simple phrases, directions, things like that to help yourself. I'm not saying he should've learned to speak it fluently in the time he was there, but he still should've learned enough to help him out at the same time. 3 months after I moved to Thailand, I had enough of an understanding to be able to ask for directions to get places, I could also give directions to people, and I could also tell the keywords to know when people were talking about me. All comes down to whether or not you want to adapt and do well in the new place you're living, so it seems a bit lazy on his behalf, but that's his call. He's certainly an intelligent enough guy by all reports, so I don't think he'd struggle too much.

He would've picked up the basics, but by the sounds of it, that douchebag coach only spoke Dutch the entire time at training so even if you picked up the basics you're not going to understand full instructions in Dutch, no matter how smart you are. They surely would've had other OS players, so they're not going to understand either. The Coach just sounds like a dick - there were promising signs at Utrecht for Arzani when the previous coach was in charge - as soon as the new bloke took over he got ZERO opportunities

The worst thing to happen to a newbie is the coach changing.

Brandon O'Neill came off the bench in the 53rd minute for Buriram last night, and was booked in the 59th minute. They played Rayong, arguably one of the worst teams in Thai League 1 history, and were comfortable winners. If he [O'Neill] doesn't start on the weekend, my guess would be that he's on borrowed time at the club. If a Thai lad, who is on considerably less money, is starting ahead of you: you're in a bit of trouble.

He's a decent A League player. We've seen how the A League sits in the ACL. A decent A League player is never going to be good enough in Korea or Japan, and the Thai league is developing very quickly. More money that the A League, and if the standard isn't higher already, it must be comparable.

+x+xwhat people are forgetting is Utrecht is a proud historic city known for its literature and works in the arts, its the city of learning all the Uni's are there.... they naturally have a desire for people to learn the local language... yes many speak English... but the city has deep ties with the history of the dutch people. not learning the local language, looks disinterested in training, why have city even got this guy on their books? This is quite literally one of the dumbest posts I have ever seen on these forums, and that's saying something. Explain? you go to Europe but don't want to learn a language? half the reason people in Madrid hate Bale is he never learned Spanish.. imagine being a teammate of his? Its been said multiple times, by several coaches now that Arzani does not train well... this is a basic fundamental to being a pro footballer... you do well in training to impress the coach and you get in a chance in a game... he clearly doesn't impress any coaches.. another one who went way way way too early and to Scotland of all places.. no one wonder we're fucked we got charlie the retard giving advice to young players.

Re: Brandon O’Neill, there was a post on his Instagram saying he had a bad bout of gastro that levelled him for a few days. Might explain why they didn’t put him straight back in the 11, and why he might be working back to full fitness/performance

The post appeared to be suggesting that Arzani should have somehow learned advanced conversational Dutch prior to joining Utrecht so he could understand the coach. Self evidently absurd. But then again you say a great deal about yourself in the use of the term "retard".

The arguments are for the fact that he’s playing now in Thailand when he was a touted Socceroo that could have been playing in Europe like the Championship instead, what’s where the argument with how far he’s fallen from...

+xVolpato bench for Roma Primavera. As good a step up as the primavera is we saw ikonomidis score a tonne of goals for Lazio and be their best (or one of) in the reserves and not get a look in for the first. Not playing it down just saying I hope he gets his shot
