It looks like FFA (FA?) have been busy of late.  They've secured the CBA as a sponsor of all  National teams.  By the sounds of the article, the sponsorship is skewed towards the Matildas.  No mention of $, but good news.
  • Official Naming Rights Partner of the Matildas, Junior Matildas and Young Matildas
  • Official Bank of the Matildas, Junior Matildas and Young Matildas
  • Official Partner the Female Football Awards

  • Official Partner and Bank of the Socceroos

It's curious isn't it?  The sponsors seem to be more interested women's football than the men's and are attracting more money.  I wonder what the resident MRA's think about that seeing as they're usually all about 'the market deciding'.

In case you hadn’t noticed Australia (along with New Zealand) is hosting the Women’s World Cup in 2023. It makes sense to hitch your wagon to that. FA have said that they will be focusing heavily on that tournament.

Many of us know what's going on but you're not really meant to talk about it.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

So the deal not including U18's & U23's (Olyroos) men's teams and so on?

Thanks for the heads up.

Would laugh if the girls started getting paid more (they won't) than the blokes and had better conditions because 'the market had decided'.  Heads would explode.

The men only get paid more because the market has decided. So if it was to swing the other way, it would be fair enough!

Regardless of what it is, its an investment for football and thats the biggest winner.

Agree nothing much on the Socceroos of late but you would seem the Matildas are a far attractive commercial proposition at the moment with its star players and the World Cup at home on the back of it.

If you ask this question a decade ago whether the girls could attract more than the mens' then people would give you a strange look but these days it shows how far women's sport has come and this is great to see!

At the risk of bringing Enzo and GA in here to call me a libtard, woke, MSM consuming shill I think the pay should be at parity for both the men's and the women's sides.  (Which I believe it is.)

(Whatever other sports want to do is up to them.)

This deal is certainly some positive news for the game.

Leading up to the World Cup in 2023, the focus will likely largely be on the women’s game from sponsors. There is a lot of upside for them to try and gain exposure leading up to a home tournament.

I suspect the devil may be in the detail with the CBA deal being skewed to the Mathilda's and the reason CBA isnt the naming rights sponsor of the Soccreoos is because of the money the roos would want for that.

Its great news for the ladies, and as a father of 2 little girls that I hope will grow up to play football its a wonderful thing but I dont think it means the ladies are worth more than the mens team commercially notwithstanding WC23. I'd be happy to be proven wrong though.

Well done to FA and JJ... Not 100% on board with our national teams being refered to as the "Westfield this" or the "Caltex that"  but nevertheless that's the done thing in Australia so good on them.

They're somehow one of the highest paid national teams in the world, which doesn't reflect their results or ranking.

CBA are smart by getting in early, beating the rush as we approach the world cup.
