Wow, Brad Smith really has found a set-up that's getting the best out of him. Very pleasing to see after a couple of seasons in the wilderness.

+xRyan could be heard shouting “watch transition, I said it!” at his teammates after they failed to cover a Newcastle runner during the first half. Signed on loan from Brighton in January, Ryan’s vision and confidence in sparking the next attack shows that he’s a quick-thinking goalkeeper. He was also speaking in Spanish to defender Gabriel and commanding the young defender to watch his left hand side. Only hearing good things about Maty out of Arsenal at the moment. Makes the suddent loss of confidence from Potter even more confusing. Yep same here. Especially from Arteta himself who can't stop going out of his way to specifically praise Maty in the media.

On Brad Smith, I turned the game on just before his goal and assist. He dominated for so much of his time on the field. He was up against some real quality players too, in Chicharito and Dos Santos, among others. He did some last ditch defending too, where he got some crucial blocks in while defending in the box. He looked comfortable and like one of the leaders of the team. He was also looking extremely fit with so much defensive and offensive output. It was the best and most comfortable I have seen him in years (if not ever). He was playing as a wing back and constantly had the opposition under pressure

Gonna be pissed off if Leno returns to the premier league line up. I feel so much more confident with Matty in goal

I feel so much more confident with Matty in goal Premier league is done for Arsenal so the rest of the season may be Maty's audition. Conversely, if they aren't sure they want to keep him they may not want to put Leno offside by dropping him for the rest of the season.

+x+x+xSmith starting against LA Galaxy. Set up their first and scored their second. That's two goals in two games! No other Australian LB is near him right now in terms of form and quality game time. Elder?

Borrello scores a vital goal for Düsseldorf. He trails in late to get the ball at the back post.

+x+xBorrello scores a vital goal for Düsseldorf. He trails in late to get the ball at the back post. Can Dusseldorf win promotion to the Bundesliga 1? It's possible but they'll need Furth and Hamburg to slip up. There's also Kiel just below them but with 3 matches in hand.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

I feel so much more confident with Matty in goal Well apparently Leno wants out in the summer according to le grove Judging by this reddit thread about the le grove article, it seems the fans don't rate Ryan as anything but a temporary second choice. Not one post suggested promoting him to no. 1 if Leno leaves, and quite a few mentioned how poor he was at Brighton and how bad his stats are. The only "complimentary" comments argue that he's a decent back up keeper. https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/n46ubp/legrove_arsenal_are_likely_going_to_lose_bernd/?utm_source=amp&utm_medium=&utm_content=comments_view_all

Kenny Dougall full game in a 2-0 win for Blackpool. The win pushes them up to 3rd. That's 2 Aussies into the promotion playoffs in League 1, with possibly a 3rd if Portsmouth can hold on to 6th. Mass Luongo's Sheffield Wednesday can actually stay up in the Championship if they beat Derby & Rotham draw or lose to Cardiff this weekend

Don’t think it’s been mentioned but Ryan Teague was nominated for Liga Revelacao’s (Portuguese U23 league) best player this season

A lot of Portuguese people who have watched Famalicao reserves reckon he’s very close to making the first team.

80 minutes for Jeggo in a 1-1 draw against Olympiacos. Aris missed a penalty in the 89th minute.

Francois starting for Fulham u23 vs west brown u 23. If they do get relegated it might work out well for him with first team chances

Red Star with a 2-2 draw, so still undefeated. They are so close to being an “invincibles” team
