+x+x+xPassable. He's been very poor over the last couple of months, and the racist cartoons he's drawn have been particularly poor. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets reported to the Press Council. I thought about reporting him to the press Council myself, but then I couldn't be bothered. Big claim. What's your evidence? Take a look at the "Gammon" reference in the Premier League strip he did this week. It's a pejorative racist term and Squires has used it freely. Gammon is pig

I won't agree with you on the gammon one, particularly as Cambridge dictionary even defines the word as thick slices of pig meat and wiki will even tell you this is nearly exclusively a British word so if anything it is signifying Pep is familiarising himself to the local dialect.. but I will acknowledge this is one of your pluralled references. https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english-spanish/gammonhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gammon_(meat)What other cartoons are you referring to? Thanks in advance, genuinely interested to see the responses.

How can a Spanish speaker not know jamón and gammon is not the same thing? It’s the same word

That is by the way, a racist slur from Squires. It has been specifically used to reference white people only and in a derogatory manner, especially in the U.K. The inference being that white people get flushed in the face when angry/upset and go pink like a pig. Squires knows exactly the inference he is making with that panel.

Gammon: a term to describe working class Brits who aren't filled with a sense of white guilt and who don't vote Labour. Used by upper middle-class Guardianistas who also claim to be a voice for the downtrodden and the have-nots. The irony is that those Burnley fans got EXACTLY the result they wanted. How more people don't see this is baffling...

“deobabades 1h ago 4 5 Every time I see Matt Simon I think of my mum. My mum is 84. A couple of years ago we were watching the a league together - for the life of me I still don’t know why. She has no interest in sport. Anyway, during the game she tutters away until finally she asks “who is that angry red head?” I tell her he is Matt Simon. She raises herself to her full height of 4f 10 1/2 inches ( she always demands the 1/2 inch ) and states “I want to punch him in the fucking head”, not a term I had heard her use before. We all give her shit about Mr.Simon being her secret crush.”

When you get his references it makes you feel smarter and in the inner circle of football intelligence. I missed plenty. Like many cartoonists, some of it is very witty, some so-so. He can capture an image though and there is no doubt who his characters are - big plus. The shame is that something else that focussed on us and drew attention to us is gorn - or maybe we are getting better at our league and he is running out of mockery without having to try too hard.
When I wear their colours, I am the club.
