+xVictory have signed 27 year old midfielder Rai Marchan, a guy playing in the Spanish third tier and doesn't even have a wiki page.
His potentially saving grace is that all of the teams he played for in the third tier before he joined Andorra FC were reserve teams of several different La Liga clubs, so it would seem they thought he might step up. Andorra (owned by Gerard Pique) finished last season in their Segunda B group in third place behind UD Ibiza and Barcelona B, and lost their promotion playoff semi final to Real Sociedad B.

Dylan Ruiz-Diaz has been loaned out to a 3rd tier Polish side from his fifth tier Polish side. WTF is he doing there.
I understand he has a football boot business that he started up whilst in Aus. To me, he doesn't seem too fussed about the level he's playing and the fact his playing career is not in the best shape.

+xWU have or are close to signing Young, D’Aggers, NTS and Botic. This got me thinking, is Kurto still in the country? Always tough to justify a foreign spot on a keeper, but he's proven and I'd still rate him comfortably above Scott. Wonder if he's on anyone's radar?

Apparently Eli Babalj is training with the Jets at the moment. Haven't heard that name for a while.

+xApparently Eli Babalj is training with the Jets at the moment. Haven't heard that name for a while. He was absolutely awful when he signed for Chainat in Thailand  At one stage he looked so damn promising, but poor career choices and untimely injuries have seen him not realize his potential. A real shame.

NTS has officially signed with Western United. Cue all the internet nuffies calling it a recycled league. C'mon, five A-League teams in 15 years is fine. A great servant, but surely this will be his last season.
As for Babalj... well, I was fan way back when, but surely he is well past last-chance saloon. We better be announcing Stamatelopolous soon.

Adelaide are seemingly going to be signing Nick Ansell which would be an underwhelming replacement for Elsey. The owners seem intent on slashing the budget so next season could get very ugly if we get a few injuries.

Wellington have signed Nick Pennington.
I really like how they have unearthed little known Aussie players in recent years like Laws, Piscopo and Burgess.

I like how Wellington are trying to get their squad together early. They already have 16 players signed on 18 if you include paulsson and old who most likely getting promoted. Good to have the team done early especially with covid interruptions

And our second signing is set to be George Blackwood. I have defended him in the past but we really don't need him given we have three younger, better, more promising strikers.

Tbh always thought Blackwood looked better just behind the main striker, so could be a good alternate between him and a genuine no.10

+xAnd our second signing is set to be George Blackwood. I have defended him in the past but we really don't need him given we have three younger, better, more promising strikers. Baffling signing. His previous stint wasn't overly impressive and he had plenty of opportunities, but he lacks the speed, conviction, and composure that a striker needs. Crazy suggestion but maybe he could play an attacking midfield/playmaker role? I honestly thought that's when he played his best games for us, but that isn't saying all that much. I'm only trying to justify where he could fit in our starting XI because I can't see us signing him as a bench player.. Ansell is one I just can't predict. Many MV fans on social media are happy to see him go, but we've helped former Melbourne boys revitalise their careers before (Galekovic, Jeggo, and Galloway come to mind). I see him at his best as equivalent skill-wise to Elsey but no better, so this is still at best a side-grade to me. I think AU fans are in for a long season...

Still a handy pickup for Adelaide.

Genreau linked with Toulouse who are in Ligue 2, it would be an interesting move not sure if he's ready for Europe but maybe he impressed them during the Olympic campaign.
