So the orthodox Jewish are breaking covid rules and lockdown in Victoria. People of the faith have been calling them out online.

+xAs a healthy male in my 30s, I've been the lowest priority for vaccines (and I get why). So I was finally able to get Astra on Friday - spent Friday night to Sunday morning with a severe fever (along with many other symptoms); only to wake up to find out that tomorrow morning I can get Pfizer because us Western Sydney lockdown LGAs are a concern and young people are now a priority. Wish there was some heads up - I could have got the vaccine that is the safer/recommended option for my age and avoided a horrible weekend of sickness. I've had my first dose of Pfizer (put my name down at a clinic to be contacted when there were left over doses as I'm also in my thirties), and I had all the same symptoms. Provided you don't get the blood clots, I don't think its that much different tbh.

+xThe EU did not stop Australia from buying pzifer. The LNP stopped Australia from buying pzifer. The EU also stopped those shipments because AZ were failing to deliver on their orders to them. Still a bit of a scumbag move IMO but they weren't taking more than they had ordered.

It was still worth getting - the alternative is risking the lives of those around me so sickness is a small price to pay. Don't take this the wrong way, but knowing you got sick from Pfizer though did make me feel better about the whole thing :) Not in the ill-wishing way, just in the it might have happened regardless then.

I've had both Pfizer shots. They rumour going round was the second shot is the one which gets you. I didn't get any major side effects from Pfizer though. Had a sore arm for 2 days and a bit of tiredness and fatigue for a day (on both occasions).

Haha definitely won't take it the wrong way, it's why I wrote it! Felt a huge relief once it was done, I don't regret it at all. Despite how crap i felt for the week I'm looking forward to 30 August when I get my second.

Because of the fuckwits. I got a park litrerally in front of my front door . And I've got to tell my kids they can't use it

The shorter turnaround between doses for Pfizer was why I ended up not rushing out to get AZ. if I was in NSW now that they've shortened it to 4 weeks, rather than 12 I would have just gone and got AZ.

Aunty Glad on the news just then. 'Even if we get to 80% vaccination and there are 500 cases a day will still have restrictions in place.' Lol. Fuck right off. If 80% of people are vaccinated and they try and lock everyone down I'll be one of those clowns you see out protesting. I dare say I won't be alone.

I got the AZ when there was no pfizer around. The week after I got it they took my age group out and said over 60's only. Of course now it's open to anyone.

+xThey have shifted the goalposts continually. If we get to 80% they will shift it again no doubt. The question should be 80% (or X%) + the remaining 20% have been offered it but refused. If you have 80% vaccinated and another 10% still want it but there is no vaccine available, then it wouldn't be fair to open up. But if everyone has had a chance to get vaccinated, they've made their choice and we have got to move on.

I don't think they've ever said there would be no restrictions once we hit 80%. Just that lockdowns would end and we could have some international travel. There aren't many places that are living restriction free. Things like indoor density limits and mask wearing in certain situations are going to be with us for a very long time.
