Conclusion
Our report found post-vaccination CAE rates following dose two of 162.2 and 94.0/million for
boys 12-15 and 16-17, respectively. For boys with no underlying health conditions, the chance of
either CAE, or hospitalization for CAE, after their second dose of mRNA vaccination are
considerably higher than their 120-day risk of COVID-19 hospitalization, even at times of peak
disease prevalence.

This is illogical. Singapore has had multitude more cases than Australia, does they make them a failure?
Singapore’s very low case fatality rate is due to the vast majority of its cases last year were in migrant worker camps. Most of these were young men whose jobs involve physical labour - they were at extremely low risk of death. Guess which other countries had similar low CFR’s? The gulf states - Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and UAE - all have very large populations of the same types of migrant workers. These workers live in cramped conditions hence the spread, but they are young and physically active hence the low death rates

Oh yeah he's really stretching the bounds of credibility trying to compare Australia with Singapore.

It's ludicrous.

It's like saying Australia and Hong Kong are similar.  Ridiculous.

I get it though. Said something silly so now has to defend it

Also Pala if density is a disadvantage in a pandemic you shouldn't be worried about your mob out Wilcannia way?!

If you want to vaccinate a lot of people in a hurry density is a huge advantage.

Captain Haddock - 9 Sep 2021 11:30 PM
- Was listening to Triple J this morning in the car and Dr. Karl was on. He said (and I am paraphrasing here) it's likely the whole world's population will need to be vaccinated every 6 months for the next 50 years or so. If this is the generally accepted consensus, the amount of money to be made and power up for grabs is mind-boggling. Anybody who develops a vaccine or shares information that threatened to derail that gravy train would be in great danger.

- The NSW government announcement on vaccine passports (and that's exactly what they are, no matter how they try to couch it in euphemisms) is completely the wrong move. They're effectively setting up a two-tier society and the fact is that there are going to be plenty of people who aren't fully vaccinated or even halfway there in a months' time. I also heard that vaccination rates in NSW are beginning to slow down- and is it any wonder when the government comes out and tries to manipulate the population into doing what they want while holding their basic freedoms hostage? Why should the vaccine hesitant or the skeptics not expect us to reach that 'magic' 70% number only for government to turn around and say "Actually we need it to be 80%/ 90% now to go back to normal?" By taking this hard-line approach, they're only making it more difficult to achieve their goal.

If you have Astrazeneca Dr Swan was saying you won't need a booster or if you do it'll be yearly if not longer.

Serious question. What's your solution?

Let everyone become naturally immune?

I spoke to my 12 year old son who is booked in for his Pfizer jab about this very scenario.
200 in a million chance of heart inflammation vs a possibly even smaller chance of contracting an alarmingly aggressive transmissible respiratory virus and passing it on vulnerable people in his family and friendship circle... His response. "any way we can bring my appointment forward, 30th September is too long to wait"
I cried ... so f#cken proud of the younger generation's (mostly) response to this thing.....

No need to get one if you don't want it, likewise, there is no need to go to the hospital if you get sick.

Our kids are more smarter and more aware then we gibe give then credit for

Mate, the one thing with being a dad is that it puts everything into perspective. Kids seem to have this uncanny ability to see through all the political bullshit and point scoring that has plagued this whole response. In my boy's eyes he loves his grandparents, his little sister who has had pneumonia before, his infant cousins and other friends and if all it takes is a little jab to do his part in keeping them safe then it is a no brainer.
Let the adults argue about personal freedoms and monetary losses, for kids its pretty simple.

Surely it is logical that density is an advantage in terms of vaccination, but a disadvantage in terms of infection.

I was asked by LFC which country did a good job with their vaccine rollout so I said Singapore. I also said that they're a wealthy Asia-Pacific nation. Doesn't sound so ridiculous to me.

here here !..............
I hear ya, my 16yr old daughter was happy as, for the big picture and all was her comment, for gaining some freedom and for the family unit and beyound......
Will it effect her in the future as for any of us ? who bloody knows time will tell with all this innuendo and todays mentality.

I recall back when we had to have polio shots and whatever shots later for the big picture.
My parents wouldn't have had 2nd thought but to comply thinking for the better not about control, its poison, politically driven etcetc - its about protecting yourselves and others, not about politics, people are suffering/dieing, whats your choice.
Thinking the sky is falling, I'm being dictated to, my State Prem to yours, think prevention is better than cure, or this is the only way to some form of freedom.

We then have so many people like Pala expressing X country for a comparison - the only useful points from any search about anywhere is understanding the intel whats occured there yet it doesn't mean its viable plan or process for here, in the experts hands, google and links come on.

How dare we have vaccine passports let alone no jab no entry, as Muz quotes what is an alternative ?
I don't like the idea - none of us would BUT what else can be done ?
Do whats needed to get out this even though it doesn't agree with you, don't think you have much choice.

Crazy to think they're about to enter the worst period since pandemic began and she's not fronting the media anymore and putting up a video on NSW health site. This would be understandable if there was no cases, not when your reckless decisions have resulted in this.

You know I dislike the system, hey I dislike how FNSW run NPL, if on principle I stood by this I wouldn't be going to any games.

Say or believe what you want about "chairman Dan" or "Mao Tse Dan" or "Adolf Andrews" or whatever the haters want to call the guy but at least he has had the cojones to front up to the media EVERY SINGLE DAY apart from when he was injured..... I dont agree with alot of what has transpired, or even the reasoning behind why it has but leadership, at least to me, means stepping up and being accountable for your actions... something the Libs don't seem to have a good grasp on in this country.
And without a hint of shame News.com broke their necks to get this up:

Say or believe what you want about "chairman Dan" or "Mao Tse Dan" or "Adolf Andrews" or whatever the haters want to call the guy but at least he has had the cojones to front up to the media EVERY SINGLE DAY apart from when he was injured..... I dont agree with alot of what has transpired, or even the reasoning behind why it has but leadership, at least to me, means stepping up and being accountable for your actions... something the Libs don't seem to have a good grasp on in this country.
And without a hint of shame News.com broke their necks to get this up:

Daniel Andrews missing on Vic’s worst dayReporters have questioned why Premier Daniel Andrews wasn’t delivering Victoria’s Covid-19 update himself, particularly on the state’s worst day of the outbreak so far. When asked why the Premier wasn’t there, Public Transport Minister Ben Carroll said it was always the plan that he would be delivering the update.

See thats the blinker prob your having, I get your point but my NPL club isn't allowed as well, as you can tell I support the shop, I'd sooner be in it all than exclude myself from it all.
You know I dislike the system, hey I dislike how FNSW run NPL, if on principle I stood by this I wouldn't be going to any games.

Pala wise words this time, life is tooooo damn short, few beers on me if at all poss one day after this shit show were in.

Hahaha c'mon compare.... It was a bit of a joke... Don't know you from a bar of soap but you sound like the type of bloke I would very very happily have a beer with.
