+xAdelaide v Victory 8,145 (seemed more) With one whole stand unavailable due to construction, that 8k would have been more concentrated in the other stands so it would have felt like more. The temporary capacity would have been around 12k (Adelaide people correct me if i'm wrong here). 8.1k in a 12k stadium would have had a pretty great atmosphere. 6037 at Gosford tonight 6k for CCM is pretty standard for them. However, that will surely increase based on that result. A win and a clean sheet over SFC at home is not something that happens that often for CCM fans. Those 6k will certainly return for the next home game.

The league is cooked if the numbers keep going this way.
Heading for a sub 7k average attendance for the season. And that is with the additional amounts put on by the clubs which we know is occuring.
Diabolical.
Interesting to see SEN stating this morning that the NBL has taken over as the premier summer domestic league to follow.

SEN supports football but they're under no obligation to pretend that all sports are equal and that they can't make claims. Maybe they're tailoring to their audience or their sponsors. Plus the NBL seems to be on an upward trajectory while the A-Leagues are treading water even after a 'reboot'.

Yeah I made the point at the game that I was glad a stand was closed coz it forced everyone to sit close and create an atmosphere

+xWestern United vs Adelaide United 2,353 Haha yeah right. The goals to the left of screen and the main wing stand opposite tv cameras had approx 300-330 ppl. There is no way the section of fans behind the right hand side goals and the alexandra ave stand was 2000 ppl

+x+xDoes anyone know what the average attendance is with and without McArthur and WUFC games? 7332 with them and 8609 without them.. Puts things into perspective. Even with Covid dicking everything around (delayed start to the season, Wellington playing in neutral venues, Perth on a long away stint, and plenty of people still wary of attending major events) the original 10 A-League clubs are not that far off the 10-12k averages they had in the better days everyone is yearning for. It's the botched expansion process that is keeping the numbers down and creating the impression of a dramatic loss of interest in the league. 2021-22 was always going to be a transitional year, given the pandemic upheavals, new broadcaster and new ownership of the game. 2022-23 will hopefully get things back to where we were before, with an end to Covid disruptions (fingers crossed there), a regular October-May calendar, Wellington and Perth able to play normal seasons at home, Sydney back at the SFS (hopefully they can return with a splash), and MV and WSW rebuilding trust with their fanbase (albeit the Wanderers still have a long way to go), the 10/Paramount deal consolidating itself after its teething issues, and the cash infusion from Silver Lake parlayed into investment in the league. 2023-24 may see further growth with the effects of the Women's World Cup, probable expansion to Canberra and Gold Coast/Wollongong, and perhaps the NSD also establishing itself. So I get the feel things have turned a corner, but Macarthur and especially WU are dragging things down significantly.

That's actually pretty impressive for the ladies attendance.

From AusStadiums. That strikes me as a decent result from the A-League in present circumstances:

+xFrom AusStadiums. That strikes me as a decent result from the A-League in present circumstances: Cmon man, on average 1,500 more spectators than an indoor sport like basketball, during a covid year where nobody was able to even be together indoors. ????..... hmmmm Doesn't look like there are more than 20 people at the WU game tonight.... https://mobile.twitter.com/aleaguemen/status/1484454238910509064

Fair enough for Wellington, who would want to go watch a foreign team play in Wollongong, especially so close to their own NPL season starting but not even the players families rocking up for WU?????? Wow, that's pretty bad.....
