+xIt feels a bit like a second coming of the 90s with these Australians going to Scotland and being unknown and giving the fans some joy. Moore, Muscat and I remember even Danny Invicinble was often mentioned for scoring on TWG. Who have I missed? At the same time Scotland have been producing better players the last 6 years or so and it's really kicking on well now. It's feels like a decent reciprocal relationship like in the 90s with Scottish fans being very fond of the Australian players in the league. I think a lot of the anti SPL sentiment was right around when Rogic was our most skilled on the ball for a long time suffering under Delia and Lennon and the SPL was also having some trouble without Rangers. Now there are a number of clubs who are in with a fighting chance every weekend and all that hard word across the system has come to fruition. Kudos to that. Viduka, Vidmar, Stuart Lovell, Patty kisnorbo and Scotty Mac too. Tbf Deila was the manager who gave Rogic his break. The season before when rogic had been injured all year, Stefan johansen won SPFL player of the season in the AM position, Kris Commons the season before that and yet Deila started picking the completely unknown and unrated Rogic as the starting AM ahead of both those guys. Reading the celtic forum at that time (15/16 season) they thought he was bonkers and were shocked when rogic started ripping it up as if it came out of the blue (they're a bit daft sometimes celtic supporters). Lennon on the other hand practically killed Rogic's career not once but twice. Had he had stayed just a season longer in either stint and i dont think Rogic would have 'made it' in europe ie i think he would have ended up in an Oil or asian league

Got to remember how raw Rogic was and he didn't get into the Asian Cup squad whether fit or not I don't know. Rodgers was the one who really saw him grow. Quality manager.

I saw the other day that Valpato was in the top team squad - hopefully he gets picked on the bench & gets some more minutes. The SMH had an article about him the other day - an FFA rep was quoted as saying that, Roma said that it would be good for his development if he got selected for the Socceroos. Let's hope Arnie takes a punt on him!!! I'd have more confidence in him doing some towards us qualifying than Leckie at the moment.
