Getting a bit tight now if Behich is injured. Gersbach is ready. Clearly Grant, Karacic, Jeggo and one or two others are preferred by Arnold.

Forgot King. A good prospect but Gersbach would be more comforting. Iredale has a lot of good form and is actually a trained left back but has been playing CB all season for Cambridge. Question is, injury then thrown in Oman away would be bloody tough but he beat Newcastle away in the FA Cup.

You mean James in Austria? He's done well. He's taller. Arnold prefers Jeggo but I'm mad Devlin isn't in.

I'd prefer to see Stensness playing as CDM to be honest - he's similar to Jedi, only quicker. I reckon we need that physical/ defensive presence in the middle of the pitch - then Hrustic, Mooy, Irvine can play further up the field where they play their best football. I'd prefer Dougall over Jeggo in that role as well. But nufty Arnold will just pick his mates

Makes sense. Tilio scoring decent goals and doesn't need to travel. lots of other wingers aren't in form or won't be selected. I'd hate to wait years for Tilio to even make a squad. Behich may be out now so I guess it will be Gersbach and King. I'd hate for King to be ahead of Gersbach who has earned a recall but King is also local so it makes things a little easier and sets up better long term.

Not sure about King. Would have thought Gersbach would be a better shout.

Tilio makes sense, our wings don’t have depth and he looks the type to step up a level when surrounded by better players.

I'll always support the boys no matter who's selected, but whats that sayimg about doing the same thing over but expecting a different result...

I'm glad Metcalfe got in. Within 2 years Jeggo and Mooy will make way for Devlin. Devlin probably just out but is surely in the plan and Atkinson needs club settling time. The Olympics show Arnold can select him. Ruka surely has to be injured. Our midfield is too good hennce Holland, Stenseness, Dougall and Genreau missing out. 3rd keeper doesn't matter too much but Birighitti should be there over Redmayne.

We are in such a bad spot going into these next 2 games. Anything other than 6 points and we won't qualify directly. More interestingly we could well win both games and end up with less of a chance of direct qualification than what we have now! If Japan also wins both games, we will have the same gap with less chances remaining to make it up. 

I know there are some Arnie haters here and he is definitely not perfect AND I know we can’t live in the past BUT less than 20 years ago we had players in the big leagues of Europe that would run rings around this bunch. So what’s my point? I think we expect too much of Arnie and for him to work miracles. There is nobody missing from this squad that would make much of a difference at all.  And all the while the so called lesser nations of Asia are improving at a faster rate than us. I am sadly not confident about taking six points from the next two games. And I don’t think we will take any more than two points from the final two games against Japan and SA. So we’ll be in a multiple play off situation again, if we are lucky. 

Fair points but selecting Grant instead of Atkinson, Duke instead of Ruka is pretty unbelievable. Devlin another. The best and current in-form players should be selected - not just his old favorites. Redmayne instead of Birighetti another

It's true that we should not expect more from Arnie. He has thoroughly shown his severe lack of ability as an international coach time and time again over several years. Him failing to qualify us is exactly what I expected from him.

We must expected more from the people who select the coach than to select and stick with a no-hoper like Arnie.
