Those crowds are actually good, they are all bunched together around a similar mid-point, and in the current environment, I take that as a positive.

How to improve crowds - Sydney FC: invest in cocaine to give the construction crew to work faster so they can play in the SFS sooner - Perth and Wellington Actually play games in Perth and Wellington - Western United: Pay Melbourne Knights to upgrade and play at Somer St permanently - Brisbane move to QSAC on a permanent basis or when they can afford to buy and upgrade Perry Park - NewCastle get new owners - WSW win some games - Bulls merge with Marconi and Macarthur Rams to form: Macarthur Livestock FC

Wow, shame we cant post photos/videos on here.
the WSW crowd against Melb City was officially 4500. There is no chance that there was more than 1500 and it looked closer to 1200-1300.

I find it amazing that these people who never go to games think they can accurately guess how many were at the ground.

+xI find it amazing that these people who never go to games think they can accurately guess how many were at the ground. Are you saying only Football people are capable of estimating crowd numbers? How arrogant. Considering the low numbers, I'd wager that most people could get within a couple of hundred of the crowd size.

As a general rule, I don't like to estimate crowds from the TV angle, given the members are generally on the camera side. Having said that, remember in the final year of Gold Coast United, and quite literally, there was not one single person present on 3 sides of the ground, and they'd post crowds of around 2,300!

There really are some genuinely pathetic individuals on this forum.

I have been a football follower for 25 yrs of my life, but, I'm not dumb enough to believe only Football supporters are able to count. It's easier to put someone down when you lack intelligence.

I didnt think it was possible for an official crowd of 38 (Phoenix v Brisbane) - surely they could have added ground staff or something to tip it over 100.
Wanderers crowd looked even less than the home match last week

I think anyone who is narrow minded is pretty silly in general I agree mate.... Imagine explaining to someone from any other part of the world that in Australia we exclude football clubs from the national competition based solely on them being founded by immigrants 60-100 years ago? And then also telling them that a big segment of the "mainstream" football public agrees with this because "something, something bad old days of effnik NSL"

I have never seen you post ANYTHING other than negative put downs 😂😂😂 Why the fuck are you here? Go outside, go for a swim or take a walk around your local park. Do something that makes you happy instead of wallowing around here dragging the rest of us down with you.

Getting back to the topic of this board. Is it true that the official attendance for yesterday's Nix v Roar game was 38? If it is true, that would mean that there were more players, coaches and refs on the turf than there were spectators in the stands. You can play an u12 game anywhere in Australia and that would not be the case.

+xSome people have already made up their mind about the a league and just post the same shit What other conclusion can you draw mate? CBS must be ruing the day they shelled out $200 million (or whatever) for this dross. I know SydneyFC you think tearing the A-League up and starting again (as I and others) have suggested is not the answer but it's getting to the point now if they don't do something radical it will die of natural causes anyway. Yes covid, this covid that. Wait until the NRL starts up again. Guaranteed they won't be suffering from crowd declines like we are.

Yes covid, this covid that. Wait until the NRL starts up again. Guaranteed they won't be suffering from crowd declines like we are. I think radical change is needed. It doesn't mean getting rid of the A-League or any of the teams, but it would mean the following: - expand the league to 16 teams, with a double round-robin 30-match season (this could be staged with 14 teams in 2023 and 16 in 2025) - implement the domestic transfer system - scrap the salary cap (but have financial sustainability licensing rules as in Japan) - establish a second division (playing a standard winter season), which would itself expand to 16 teams within a few years and have immediate pro-rel with the NPL - this might have to wait till the end of the current broadcasting contract in 2026, but: switch the A-League to a March-November season and introduce pro-rel with the second division The result of all this is that the richest clubs (namely Sydney, Victory, Wanderers, City) would likely end up becoming a big 4 which will mostly monopolise the top positions in the league. The likes of Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide may be able to make sporadic title challenges, but the remainder of the A-League would mainly be focussed on avoiding relegation rather than thinking they can compete for the title. Having such a spectrum of clubs may be anathema in Australian professional sport which rewarding mediocrity through drafts and salary caps, but it's how football works in most of the world. It would also mean the bigger clubs would be better able to participate in Asia and hopefully in the long-term we can compete with clubs from Korea, Japan, etc (our concrete goal should be to replace Thailand as the 4th ranked league in East Asia, which would give us 2+2 spots in the ACL). It might also mean that one or two "ethnic heritage" clubs like South Melbourne or Sydney United make it into the A-League every now and again, but hey, it's 2022.
