Would love a cupset, for a multitude of reasons. But unless it goes to penalties it will be a hard ask.

sydney united look decent 1-1 so far A second division would take the best of these teams and allow them to take some of the best npl players bumping up their quality slightly. They also get more experience against top opposition. It wouldn't be that far below the a league in standard

+xbest 90 minutes for a non-a league side right? On par with Bentleigh who were pretty good as well. Unlucky not to take Sydney FC to extra time.

Only got to watch the pens unfortunately. Seems that confident penalty takers are not very common - so many hopeful gentle pokes. Exciting for Sydney United - funny to hear the commentators calling it as "knocking out the ALeague Champions" - I know they are but I just don't feel for WU as the best of the league.

by the way thanks for posting up the thread RIMB..... I had it in my diary reminder and couldn't get out there so watched it on 10p. Great stuff SU, considering the woeful season they have had and losing the Waratah Cup just last week this makes up for the year very much....... WU had their moments/possesion as expected BUT SU really got their moments winning 2nd ball and attacking down Roberts flanks who played great. Actually glad Payne was subbed at HT. Trifiro the ol fox once on made a good diff. A very deserved win well done SU. Man the commentry is as dead pan like watching paint dry. Who's the female, OMG quoting through the 2nd half fatigue is coming in for WU, ffs what a stupid thing to say, I would have expected it said about the part timers despite the season just finished having chased WU around the park. ayyL, as much as I admire Greens nah their game overall wasn't as good as SU's imo. Yes they should have got the equaliser but SU's build up play looked more polished to me and better game overall. SFC is in build up mode, many newbies and Jnrs played but for the few regulars it seemed compared to WU unless I'm mistaken.

Crazy ending to the game - Green Gully seemed the slightly more polished side most of the game until Power's subs around 80th minute - then two goals in a minute. Scrappy end but Power managed to hold out. Some really clever players in both teams in terms of skill, speed, touch, strength and composure - not just a kickfest by any means. I enjoyed watching them both play.

Hat's off to all our players, played out of their skins, special mention to Danijel Nizic, the obvious MOM. Payne went off with ankle ligament damage. looks like our two starting strikers will be out for the next round unfortunately.
