Quick resolution to Sundays abandoned match (Game was called off at half time due to lighting tower issues.... Lights came on 10-15 mins late but Thunder coaching staff didnt want to continue the game for some reason) Match resume tonight from second half kick off, South up 2-1, same lineup, yellow cards and bench.

Best OG Melbourne Derby night in quite a few seasons... Both sides fiery, very technical and disciplined - we pinched the win as it could have gone either way. Feels so much better when both Knights (who are having a stellar season and will challenge for finals for sure this year) and us are firing at the same time.... +x+xHey Mate, theres a blast from the past.... Only played a couple of cameos off the bench in 2019 from memory (horror season we had that year - no two starting 11s where ever the same) Had a decent engine from memory but cant remember him every doing anything special.... I think he went to Thunder on a free after us and then.....??? Havent seen his name come up for years... is he back in Sydney? yes that he is back here, I suppose he's come back home originally started with Bonny (BWE) After Thunder went to Greens - yer hasn't done much more. Getting on but he's turned up to play in the sons Dalleys/Cro Prem 1 Club from this week. Expect he'll be OK for this level, I'll check him out if he gets off the pine this weekend. Seemed like a good bloke, hope he finds his level... Wasn't a bad player just joined us at a time where we had rotating coaches and a tech department with some very questionable signings..... The year before 2018 we just scraped out of relegation zone in the final round and 2019 was an endless rotation (Skapetis, Beckett, Krousoratis, Marafiotis x2) of "experiments in midfield....

Not sure the drama with south playing their old enemy either. So what if its two ethnic teams, this isnt the 80s and 90s anymore, doubt you'd see much animosity between the fans like back in the old days. I hope teams like south Melbourne and preston lions get into this new b league that's supposedly coming. We will get to see a true rivalry on a big stage, and they'll surprise everyone when there won't be any buckets thrown at goalkeepers and pitch invasions. You just want South the get out of the NPL so Oakleigh can be a big fish in a little pond again :P. lol.... Youve got a big match at Gully tonight, need the win against a shaky Ajax to keep you in touch with the top two.... I genuinely wish Oakleigh could go to this new league, but i understand the club is too small and can't afford it, so I'm more then happy for south to make it, compete with original rivals like the good old days. We've seen with the previous Australia cup, npl teams can compete with a league teams, it'll only be a matter of time before npl teams are in the a league. Time isnt a factor mate, nor is football performance. Its more likely, at this stage, that some Aleague Clubs will join the NST than it will EVER be the other way around.....

A rare TRIPLE HEADER this Sunday South fans.
On Sunday we pause to remember Senior Constable Tony Clarke who tragically died whilst on duty – 24 April 2005. He was part of the Region 4 Traffic Task Unit and was highly respected as an efficient and dedicated police member. 💙Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues.Tony had a great love and passion for soccer and each year his former colleagues organise a ‘Tony Clarke Memorial Game’ between ex-Socceroos and Matilda’s and Victoria Police Soccer Club (Copperoos) hosted by South Melbourne Football Club at Lakeside Stadium. Great day for the kiddies with police cars, Blue Ribbon merch and sometimes even a fly-over by the police chopper :) The FA "celebrities: sometimes grace us with their presence so good time to ask your NST questions lol....
