1. MVFC (Most of the squad have been together for 12 months. Should improve with Nani). 2. WSW (Surely this year?). 3. MCFC (Haven’t really improved their squad greatly but will still be up there). 4. AU (Pretty consistent team). 5. Nix (Well coached team). 6. WU (Potential championship hangover coming). 7. MacArthur (will be in the fight for finals). 8. CCM (See MacArthur). 9. SFC (Long needed rejuvenation of squad, but the signings don’t seem that exciting). 10. NJ (Could be surprise packets. Probably won’t be). 11. BR (Austin should boss this league, but will he get the service?). 12. PG (In a state of dogshit). I also wanna add that there seems to be a bit of enthusiasm since the launch 24 hours ago. From nowhere I feel a little more positive about this new season. I am heading up to Sydney, where we will attend in good numbers (I’m hearing 1,000+). ticket sales overall look good for this game. bring it on!!

bulls (just see everything clicking for them they should win the Australia cup and build on it) victory (to good to not be in the mix) mariners (the club seems to be doing things right I think Cummings and and kuol will steal the show) city ( we’ll be up there but feel like midfield will be weaker) wanderers (Rudan will get them in the finals) Adelaide (successful team that has a good culture) Wellington (think the nix will be good but just miss out) sydney (to many average players for me) Brisbane (will do better then people think) western (not many new players and might not be as hungry as last season) perth (will be better then last season) jets (defence and GK isn’t that impressive will be a long season)
Golden boot: cummings jonny Warren: De silva

1. Melbourne City (Unbelievable depth in defence and midfield and have a Socceroo winger on the bench.) 2. Western United (Improved a Championship winning squad.) 3.Macarthur (Big call I know but I believe Macarthur have a very good attack, midfield and keeper. Yorke has massively improved the squad and I think Al Hassan Toure will have a big season.) 4. Adelaide United (Kept a strong squad together, have the best player in the league and have good depth in all positions bar striker. Will finish the season strong with a run of home games.) 5. Melbourne Victory (Nani and Izzo are great signings but Cadete and Timotheou are huge downgrades on Davidson and Hamill. I don't rate a lot of their depth options either.) 6. Wellington Phoenix (Great attack and good midfield but lack a dominant CB. They'll be very tough to beat at home.)
7. Western Sydney Wanderers (Good squad on paper and should be much better, I do think they've missed a trick by wasting a visa spot on a washed up Ninkovic which leaves them a quality midfielder short.) 8. Sydney FC (Good starting XI but their depth is poor and Corica is still coach.) 9. Newcastle Jets (Recruitment started strongly but ended up signing too many back up midfielders instead of improving the defence and signing a like for like replacement for Daniel Penha, 10. Perth Glory (Will be much better but I'm not sold on their new visa player bar Beevers. They've signed a lot of back up players with potential but not enough proven Australian players 11. Central Coast Mariners (Haven't adequately replaced Rowles, Tongyik or Bozanic and have too much youth with few experienced leaders. 12. Brisbane Roar (The signings they have made have actually been good, they just haven't made enough of them. Their fans seem to be turning on Moon as well)
Golden Boot - Jamie Maclaren Johnny Warren medal - Craig Goodwin Young player of the year - Al Hassan Toure Flop of the season - Salim Khelifi

+x 2. Western United (Improved a Championship winning squad.) Agree with most of your post... Except on WU. I don't see much improvement there, plus Diamanti, Kilkenny and Prijovic are inching further into geriatric territory. Great players, mind you. I almost wanna see Macarthur do well, as I like that they have a lot of ball players. Hopefully Toure and Arzani can shine.

Might have to change my City prediction since we smashed them 5-1 over 135 mins today (3-0 in regular time) 😂

1.CCM- (why not dream?). To be honest, alot of people saying bottom half of the table for them because of poor recruitment, I don't see it. Where we were weak we have recuited alot of talent, CCM have alot of depth. Personally really looking forward to seeing what John has to offer. 2.MV- More of the same, brick wall in the defence, strong in attack, fast in transition, solid recruitment. 3. MC- money buys strength and stability. 4.. WU- more of the same. Good recruitment, good retention, good structures. 5. MB - strong team, well balanced, some stable defensive units, a hell of a lot of fire power, the transition in to defence may be the issue. 6. AU - good recruitment, good structures into he midfield. Forwards have Question marks, but they do have Goodwin. 7. WSW- decent recruitment, alot of established players, dunno how that will go with Rudan's personality, also still not sold on their defence. 8. SFC -Their defensive recruitment has been poor. They've let go of alot of their core team. This is Corica's first team. I see some potential but to many variables. 9. NJ- great attack, terrible Defence. Expect alot of high scoring matches. Hope there is diamonds in the youth teams coming through. I'm sure Papa's has something lined up, 10. BR -. The loss of parsons won't have helped, but it may be cancelled out by Dangzaki. Their defence needs to improve on last year, I don't see where it's going to come from though. 11. WP - lost alot of fire power across the ditch, on a good note Ufuk does know how to regenerate. 12. PG- the stadium situation is gunna shit on them, am looking forward to Hatchy getting some solid game time.

+x5. Melbourne Victory (Nani and Izzo are great signings but Cadete and Timotheou are huge downgrades on Davidson and Hamill. I don't rate a lot of their depth options either.) Interesting take. i feel we have great depth. our biggest issue is CB if Miranda and Spira miss games, but I'm hopeful they will be fitter 12 months on. We also have a visa spot up our sleeve for January if necessary.

Plus given how injury prone Spiranovic is, Timotheou will have to play a lot and he’s nowhere near A-League standard.

Poor weather on East Coast over weekend only going to affect crowds negatively. A big shame with some decent clashes.

I hope not as they do have some great players - brimmer, nani, d'agostino, miranda all have the potential to be the best in the league in their positions But my head is telling me at the moment they will be around 4/5th spot

Amazed at some of the negativity re CCM.
You only have to look at the pre-season results to see how well they're doing with some really exciting young players (best academy in the league by far).
On top of that, Kuol and Cummings will take the league by storm, until January...
Apart from that I expect Macarthur, WU and Victory to do pretty well. City have the roster but seem to be losing constantly in preseason.

Nothing worse than looking into the crystal ball pre season and putting your neck out there...... Some absolute shocker predictions let alone who could have picked what has occurred admin wise let alone the pitch invasions etc..... One thing is quite evident, SFC have done way better than any expected. AU/CCM were always gonna be in the mix, WSW well they have improved but out in a whimper. WU as defending Champs shocking. MV a ongoing utter mess.

MV a ongoing utter mess. For me i'd say every club except the top 4 were varying levels of terrible this season. The fact that clubs like MV and BR could have made finals up until rd24 just shows how bad everyone was in some way or another. For example, BR and MV had the 3rd and 4th best defensive record in the league. They just couldn't score. MV only lost 2 games by more than 1 goal. Then you have AU with the 3rd worst defensive record in the league, yet they could score. There really wasn't much separating clubs this season, except for Bulls who were truly awful in every way.
