+xGenreau 13 mins off the bench against Lyon. Only 1 successful pass out of 6 (FotMob stats) not great. At least he's starting to get some minutes. He was poor against NZ.

Im surprised he went to a club where he wasn't guaranteed first team football. Danish league is a big step down from La Liga as well. I'm sure he could get first team action at any other club in Denmark or even a stronger league so it seems like another bad move on his part.

One thing Matty is better for sure is ball distribution with his feets.

should of went to a mid table spanish team where they dont care about height as much. Can understand the allure of UCL though. I dont think Maty makes the grealish or gundogan saves, this guy is a step above maty.

+xThe match report on the Guardian says “not many keepers come out of a 5-0 loss looking good, but Grabada was excellent” and went on for quite a bit praising him. and considering the divide between the 2 teams, Pep could have put out his 2nd 11 and still grab a 5zip win. Grabada pulled off some great saves, could have been 8 easy not for him. I think its good Ryan wasn't used in the big picture but hope he gets game time during their league.

https://youtu.be/6zXHbMP_jtcCopenhagen highlights. Good saves but when Ryan makes them the retort is 'it was right at him.'

+x+xWe knew that Ryan was signed by FCK as an 'injury replacement' for their first choice keeper, they made that pretty clear when they signed him i thought. True and Ryan was fairly cold coming in but then the way he played blew everyone away but now there's the coach change and it's back to square one. It depends on what the coach wants. Is Ryan the better distributor? Is height really the question? Grabara made two good saves today but there not ones Ryan wouldn't have been able to make himself. Fans seem to see Ryan that little bit ahead still. Grabara's interview comments come across as confident yet arrogant. Can Ryan make such comments without the coach thinking it's bad for the camp? fair points.

+x+x+x+xFC Copenhagen ‘keeper Kamil Grabara fires shots at Maty Ryan 👀 The Aussie has kept five clean sheets in his last nine games for the Danish giants but with Grababa returning from injury, his position is in doubt. Should Ryan keep the starting spot? His next test is Erling Haaland in the Champions League… 🗞: https://watchoptus.tv/Ryan-GGPodToo often has Ryan been stuffed around at club level for this one not to work out. All the other frustrating Australian keeper situations abroad are akin to Grabara's situation in a way but I'd like to have this one for Ryan. Thing is, there must be reasons for this pattern. My hunch is that Ryan's lack of height is costing him. Whatever is he? 183? He's obviously a talented keeper, but they all are at elite level, and most of them are significantly taller than Ryan. Do if you are at coach and you have twi excellent keepers and one of is 183 and the other is 193, who are you you going to pick? Just looked it up. Ryan is 184 And Grababa is 195. I think that's the reason right there and yes Ryan will be no 2 The main criticism I saw of Ryan on Brighton forum was he doesn't command his area well from corners and free kicks. Copenhagen might prefer Grababa because he is young. If they think both he and Ryan are currently of similar standard, they'll likely opt for the one with higher potential. Ryan probably has to show he is clearly superior..

Got to feel for Ryan. He’s done the right things and either he’s hard done by or he’s just got a few things setting him back.
If he remains on bench someone else must start at the wc.

90 and an assist for Elder Decent enough cameo for Ruka against Juve
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

He isn't good at deflecting shots to safety. He will often save a shot and instead of deflecting it wide he will palm it back forward and into danger. It was a big problem at Brighton where they were a lower level team who copped a lot of shots.

Like Sanchez at Brighton who keeps getting beaten with his outstretched body? Or like the hack Mendy who flails around like a plank of wood? We'll have to wait for the weekend to know if Ryan has been shafted yet again when he's performed very well. That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that if you have two keepers of like ability and one is 184 and they other is 195, you select the taller keeper. Some people take Ryan's career so personally.

McGree finding himself on the bench last couple of games too.
Not great for the lead into the WC with some of these players struggling for game time.

Don't get the McGree benching when he's been one of the best at Boro. Interim coach still I believe.
