So a few players now are hopefully ruled out of any club games for the next fortnight. While losing some sharpness, they can work on being ready for the world cup with little risk of injury.

Rafael Rech (Rafinha) (19) has been getting consistent minutes off the bench and occasionally starting for Juventude in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. Granted they are at the bottom of the ladder, but still good to see him playing. He's another dual nationality Brazilian/Australian.

Atkinson scores a late consolation goal. I think the recent goals and the fact he could also play right wing should see him get selected. It's probably between Karacic and Strain. Strains been on the wing too so the flexibility is good.

What a dodgy article. Not one word about the actual injury or what kind of pain he'll be playing through.

Volpato came on at half time but was substituted at 80 mins in Roma's Europa league game against Ludogorets.
Apparently played pretty well but needs to up the workrate.

+xVolpato came on at half time but was substituted at 80 mins in Roma's Europa league game against Ludogorets. Apparently played pretty well but needs to up the workrate. According to every Roma fan, he completely changed the game, his footwork broke down the defence and they had complete control. The fans want him to continue to play and eventually start. But he was on a yellow card and hasn't been taught how to double in defence and close down space effectively when marking and switching. Only reason he was subbed off. He is an impact player so offensively he was pivotal and great tbh

So is Australian team announced on Tuesday? They really should make it a big event announcing the World Cup team

Iredale starting
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Iredale makes it 2:0 on 11. He hardly needs time to get back to scoring after every brief injury stint.

imagine the impact subs of volpato and kuol if we can snare them. The last 30 minutes of every game will be electric

I honestly think we lose Volpato to Italy. He won’t play for us this WC and he will be on the radar of the Italian NT in the next two years, while most of our games will be meaningless friendlies and World Cup qualifiers against the likes of Laos and Hong Kong. So many benefits to playing for Italy; shorter travel journeys, higher quality opponents, euros, probably better remuneration, etc etc etc. The only benefit playing for Australia is less competition for a place in the team, hence better chance of consistent selection.

Celtic escape with a late late 4:2 win over Dundee United. Birighitti with some rough handling for the second goal apparently. Despite the two goals in added time, the anti Birigihitti crowd aren't as loud. 8 saves today and some described as good. He's being attacked now for being friendly to Hart post game.

Shame Souttar didn't off the bench. Was really looking hoping he'd get 2 games before the WC.
Fingers crossed he plays the 90 for the 21s at least.

+x+xMOTM from McGree apparently Not according to FotMob. But he played 90 which is good I'd be hesitant to use fotmob for determining best on grounds in individual games. It's a stats website and can be used to effectively measure performances in quantifiable terms but isn't going to be able to measure everything.

+xStrain scores. Surely it's him and Atkinson Karacic playing at a higher level and strain too similar to Atkinson. Better off having 2 seperate types of right back

So Stensness has been making his way back in the last few weeks and has started the last three games at CB.
Could he be a smoky for the Socceroos?
