Expecting a good crowd as usual for the United vs Victory game.

Victory have apparently nearly sold out their away allocation (4 bays - from memory they get two bays on each level on the southern stand.)

Hope we can crack 5 figures and then some.

Yeah I was disappointed with our first crowd even with the valid weather excuse.
We play exciting football that has given the big spenders nightmares at times in the last couple years we deserve some local recognition.

Last game before the world cup break too and already huge in a ladder sense - should be a massive night I can't wait!

Yeah the weather was a nightmare. It makes it hard to go especially with small children. We end up going last week at the last minute and it just happened to be that the storm stopped an hour or so before kick off and stayed away.

I still find the ticket prices way to expensive. $40 to sit near the corner flag at the derby

In ( 1st ) world football terms, you don't know how cheap that is.

Also, a General Admin ticket costs $30 for an adult. An extra 10 bucks for a reserved seat in a better location is a pretty good deal in my opinion.

that true but comparing to old long time running leagues that have P/R its chalk and cheese and trying to grow support especially in our case and circumstances.
What newbie fan would bother generally.
To date not alot.

It’s $60 for platinum tickets at the derby to much I reckon

All sport is expensive these days. NBL tickets for an adult in Adelaide are $30 for the highest section behind the basket, and $62 for a seat on the side.

I think the best general admission tickets to the crows were $80+ this season which I think is crazy considering half the ground was empty every week.

Adelaide United tickets are $28 behind the goal, $32-$35 in the new stand and $45-$55 in the main grandstand - comparable to the NBL.

Nice crowd

Cracking atmosphere too (from both sets of fans). The Sydney derby should also be rocking. The attendance numbers might not be quite up to what they were in the league's heyday, but it certainly feels like the mojo is coming back.

Long term, I think APL taking control over the league will be a blessing. Yes, there have been some hiccoughs, especially with broadcasting, but they definitely seem to be taking a sensible approach to active support (unlike the FFA's self-destructively paranoiac stance) and initiatives like the All Access episodes show what an organisation that isn't tied to the sport's governing body can do. And hopefully Paramount+ beds in, it's not like there isn't serious corporate heft behind the service.

I couldn't help but laugh at the RBB holding a sign saying 'New nest, same rats' without a shred of irony.

All honesty though that was the best atmosphere at a derby for nearly 10 years. I'd almost forgotten how good this fixture was. Kudos to both sets of fans.

Who is not enthused about doing their bit to go to matches and play a part in raising crowd numbers, spending their hard earnt money, to have the match ruined, absolutely detroyed by the man of the match, the Referee?? This happened again, this time in the Mariners vs Macarthur match.
Remember that Garang won't obviously be there to dig the Mariners out of a hole from here on going forward. His brilliance only papered over the massive cracks in refereeing standards, being sub standard.
Obviously, people power and voting with their feet is the answer. Don't go to matches and the referees will be forced to clean up their act, there would be no choice. Or just put up with it. Think about it consumers..
