Ah good Muz is here. What's the latest law/directive on scene like that? Is the red more for the brutality of the foul? is it simply because it's outside the box. I don't think it's a clear goal scoring chance as he's pushed the ball on and the other Welsh player was deeper to cover.
I know the Bundesliga did away with keeper fouls for a pen and a red on top.

Red for high foot but ref gave yellow initially because there was cover on the inside and the touch was taking him away from goal so not DOGSO. Of course once VAR got involved it was clear it was given for the high foot.

Take anything I say with a grain of salt because I'm a gumby ref and these blokes are top tier. Just trying to explain what I think happened and why.

Of course once VAR got involved it was clear it was given for the high foot. I think it was perfect officiating and then VAR involvement to clarify the severity of the foul. Live I thought Hennesey had kicked the ball to the side.

Must say even though they dumped us out of 98 I do like the Iranians. They love Australian supporters too. Great people.

I thought it was an obvious red and was surprised to see a yellow.

Cop that Bale and your stupid top knot. Great composure for the second. Thought his touch was heavy but lovely dink.

Let it sink in how many top level players Wales has and just how poor they are with the ball.
I don't think the extra man made the difference as Wales parked it defensively.

Qatar Senegal next. Go the AFC :D :D Should see goals. One of my tipping leagues has a silly rule where you can only use a specific scoreline once each matchday. Tipped 5:1 Senegal here.

FIFA are the most corrupt bunch of fucks to walk the face of the earth but the World Cup is just such a great tournament. So many stories that just write themselves.

I wish Wales and Iran could go through. But obviously the quality of England is just immense. They'll go through.
If I have to pick between Iran and Wales, I go Iran.
Especially given the courage of that group of players and all that the people of that country are going through. The state is is awful, its cruelty to its people is despicable.
Maybe this gives the Iranian people to cheer about

Anyhow, I'm happy that Gareth Bale got to play (and score) at a WC. Shame the Welsh didn't beat the US

If I'd been reffing that game, when the first goal went in, I would've joined in the pile on. It was that much of a relief.
As for the card I have a standard that seems solid:
If a player makes a tackle that would get him immediately sent off in a state of origin rugby league match, it probably deserves a red.

+xEngland won't lose. I'll bet a house on it. Didn't know you had property on St Huberts Island. The chances of England losing are slim indeed. I see a draw around 15% chance.

Maybe this gives the Iranian people to cheer about Certain states don't like there team winning because it spurs the people on. While nice for the population there might be a spike in bloodshed tonight. Horrible circumstances but a harsh reality of those environments. A student of mine said after 1997 people went out onto the streets and the authorities got pretty concerned pretty quickly and certain areas were flooded with forces.

Still lots of empty seats at the Qatar game. 23min to start. That brings me to the question, how early do you get into a ground?
For club I need to be in around 35min before as it's standing. It's gotten easier being in Bundesliga 2. I'll never miss the anthems if I've got a seat. I think 30min is generally alright with a good entrance policy.
