Whole of the ball has to be over the line, end of.
Wow at these results. It puts the three of England Spain and France in the half of the draw to knock each other out. We can't beat them but they can sure beat each other. That's why knockout football is so amazing.
We focus on Argentina. The things we can't control are working for us.
Let's fkn win this thing!
Fkn straya!!!

+xThat VAR decision though... That ball was clearly over the line. It wasn't even close really. Not that I'm complaining. That was maybe the first VAR fuck up I was fully on board with. Not even close? It was insanely close. I'm mostly just surprised that the goal-line technology doesn't cover the rest of the byline.

Ball looked in from the angles I saw.
People seem to assume the shape of a ball goes in a straight vertical line from the point touching the ground

I just meant that it looked obviously out on replays.

Honest to God I do not see that as out and the above views pretty much confirm it. A ball is a sphere there is no point looking at what is touching the grass

A ball is a sphere there is no point looking at what is touching the grass And even then, to call this a diabolical decision is over the top as well. The vey next frame after the one being used to say "zOMg its clearly out" is clearly in. Linesman is on the other side of the goalposts. VAR ain't ever overruling that.

I know the ball is round :), that ball/sphere/edge is past the line, far linesman has no hope to call it being in line with the posts and net obstructing his view but VAR knobs should have. Anyway whats done is done water under the bridge Spain would be happy meeting the Rocans and glad the Kroats gone for the 2nd Cup in a row group stage.

Finally got around to watching the Belgium/Croatia highlights, and is Lukaku secretly Croatian? Missing one of those is one thing, but both?!

What a crazy morning of football!
Japan were down to Spain at half time then they turned it around by scoring 2 goals in 2 minutes! The second goal was controversial BUT VAR was there and thought it was ok which is fair enough because the whole ball has to cross over the line.
Then the Germany vs Costa Rica was crazy as well, Germany had the lead at half time and then Costa Rica scored 2 to lead the game which meant that Spain was also going to miss out but Germany scored 3 goals later in the match to win.
Got to love world cup football, its the best drama because you don't know could happen when the stakes are so high for each team.

+xGerman panel in a bit of a meltdown about their youth development and player mentality. Hilarious with the ROI compared to ourselves. We need to improve across the board but the amount of money and time down the drain from Germany, Belgium and Qatar is astounding. Im sure they will create Das Reboot 2.0 and win in 2030.

+xHey robbos, my fam are stressing you guys likely meet Spain in the Qrtr's..... Already thinking 1 game ahead lol....... That is so typical of the Portuguese, always jumping the gun, not remembering Serbia (if they beat Switzerland) beat them in the qualifying. Plus Ronaldo is looking slow, but still damn good looking.
