Even for you it's a stretch/idiotic to try and equate a press release about ronaldo and govt funding of academies.

I expect the outrage to come more from people outside the a-league set up that government money would go to private entities.

Putting that aside though I'm not sure anyone could argue having 11 well funded and run with govt oversight academies in the country is a bad thing

So private entities that have paid Licence fees, that have sold off their business for $130Million, want exactly what?

Government to fund their Academies?
FA to fund their Academies?

What about transfer fees and player compensation?
What about all the other NPL Academies?

Football can't afford to have the top tier monopolising the revenue streams.  The A-League clubs need to learn how to operate effectively with the revenue streams they have and leave a reasonable amount of the potential revenue including government grants to the rest of the football ecosystem which is just as important as the top tier.

They   are   all   over   the   place ,  just   seem   to   be   making   it   up   as   they   go   along  .
