Twice the ball has gone out there and the Argentina bench kick the ball away. Should be an immediate yellow.

I think this is the best WC I’ve watched - maybe caught up with the hype right now but I dont think I’m far off.

Best WC final and a terrific tournament.Very happy for Messi-he is the GOAT.Mbappe scores a hat trick but on losing side -plenty of time for him to even surpass Messi though Lionel is a great all round player.

Lads this was my fav world cup ever. From Ecuador spanking the hosts to seeing Messi grab the big gold and all the greatness in-between. 32 teams is perfect. This format is perfect. I am worried this tournament is losing its soul from here-on-out.
Everybodys favourite lurker.

Messi and Mbappe unbelievable. Messi and Argentina deserved this. In 2006 and 2022 Australia only lost by 1 goal in Round of 16 to eventual Wcup winners. Great compliment to Roos efforts 👏

Thankfully the football took over the politics quickly enough. A very good tournament on the field and seemingly well organised on the ground.
After seeing the rights given in a Rome internet Cafe, crazy to believe it's all over now.

Good World Cup but I thought the major teams were not as strong as previous tournaments.
They were all weakened versions of their former selves

yes isn't that the best msg, bugger the politics thankfully the football did the talking the last few weeks. I never expected this WC to hit the heights it achieved being where it was held. Thats whats been great about it tsf. I can now finally get back to a regular sleep pattern the coming days but damn I'll miss it. Yes agreed don't fix what isn't broken, current 32 format has always worked, damn greed making for the change again.

+xGood World Cup but I thought the major teams were not as strong as previous tournaments.
They were all weakened versions of their former selves More goals in Qatar Wcup than Russia 2018! Major teams are no longer so dominant cos the other confeds have caught up a little I think

What did I just watch? What a roller coaster of a final.... certainly one of the better ones (for the neutral) in recent times..... So happy for Argentina, and the Frenchies should be proud of showing the grit to come back, twice, in a game they basically got played out of for 3/4 of it.... Agreed LFC the ref was pretty spot on and the outcome was the "fair" one if that is even a thing in out topsy turvy game.....
I tried to get a few zz before coming onto work but no luck ..... will be tucked in to bed early tonight :)

MSC don't think the ref put a foot wrong, many of the replays looked right calls mind you I thought Di Maria's pen was soft. The simulation in the box by the French player, I should watch it again. Argentina's midfield was killing it that 1st half, have we ever seen 2 players subbed at the 41st min before HT like Deschamps did in games of this importance. What a play by Scaloni starting up with DiMaria - 2 goals were brilliant in the game, the build up and touch flowing play of his and Mbappe's 2nd the volley, the placement and power.

A good world cup. I think the football was so good it drove the problems with Qatar into the background whilst it lasted.

The "relief" on Di Marias face when Messi scored the goal in extra time was priceless.... cant believe Mbappe though, 3 penalties scored calmly (and a wonder goal), in a World Cup final and he just turns 24? Holy shit man..... what a player he will be.
