Nonsense, loads of leagues around the world survive and even prosper with much worse crowds than the A league.

Last night was a tight arm wrestle of a match, with both sides having strong spells of possession.

Credit to Armiento - I still find him frustrating, but he's got something and he's a good addition to the Roar. Prijovic was not at his best but is always a goal threat.

How many of them are prospering with worse crowds that are closed off leagues though? There is no way the A-league can survive in its current format.

Keep hearing Will Wilson mentioned by commentary. Love seeing these players come through and get on the pitch. Young Triantis aye! Is Jay Barnett injured or relegated to NPL?

And without VAR you'd have hundreds of replays and pundits basing their whole recap over that. 

It's a crowd of purely young families and retirees, most have very little attachment to the sport or the team. It's not the races or the fireworks that does it, it's them, and the family friendly atmosphere it provides.

I'm still waiting for the crowd figure for tonight. I can't seem to find it. The NYE game has always had a certain drawcard. I just want the Mariners to move the average attendance up that bit more. Thankfully they're performing and that's another reason to go.

Excellent result for CCM.Good crowd and atmosphere and lots of families.if the kids enjoyed it maybe will boost further attendances.

Garang had a quiet game for him but was given a very enthusiastic send off when subbed.Cummings is a predator but also  works hard in defence and pressing.Nisbet was everywhere and outshone the Victory midfielders.

I liked the look of Will Wilson for Victory especially in the first half-put himself available and is quick.

Mariners play at home next weekend which is a good chance to keep momentum.

Down this way for a few days and went to the match last night. Great entertainment, nice stadium, lots of kids and mums. Fireworks after the game which was good

Cummings came back from an offside position for the first disallowed goal.

Nice standing ovation for Kuol. Cummings looks like he's enjoying himself. No 3 for CCM and 11 were great as well (can't remember their names) as the shortest bloke in the A League surely, Joel Nisbet.
