+xWe need victory’s crowds to come back :( Tell the APL to cancel the Sydney GF. Tell MVFC to support your fans. Then we’ll be back. FWIW, These constant Sunday home games (and 6pm kickoffs on public holidays) don’t help either.

Pretty sure Victory fans would have told us all they have carried the league for years so it’s only fair and it’s up to the rest of us to show we want it etx etx

+xPlastic wankers. Would you have boycotted if all the next three grand finals where in Melbourne ? It’s a moot argument because the APL never approached any other state government outside of NSW. Football authorities in Australia have always been seen as Sydney centric by those of us who live outside of NSW, and this is a "line in the sand" moment for many of us. We are not copping this any more. The GF was the one thing fans outside of NSW were still able to keep for themselves (if they earnt that right), and having that taken away from us is like the APL taking a massive dump on our collective faces. As for calling us “plastic,” standing by our principles makes us far more authentic football fans than you sellouts.

FA's all around the world make shite decisions all the time, but the game moves on, unlike this backward football nation. Protest all you want, but you must still support your team before it dies due to lack of love and interest.

Do you not get that? It makes the whole situation even more outrageous.

In Scotland both Rangers and them despise the SPFL and the SFA, do they boycott in spite of this,or is the club more important and they both continue to show up in massive numbers for over 100 years ? As i said, your supporters are plastic wankers.

It would appear you are well and truly entrenched in your Sydney bubble and refuse to listen to (read) what i have to say. It’s like I’m banging my head against a brick wall. FYI, you used the word “boycott.” I don’t think that’s appropriate terminology to describe us anymore. We are not deliberately choosing to miss games. Disinterest is more appropriate. People are just moving on from the AL down here and the disinterest is real. Victory has about 20,000 members. I can see that dropping by 30%-40% next season. Or many will drop from 11 games to 3 games. I know I will be telling the club to switch off my auto renew and will see what unfolds in the offseason. Sydney FC have always had this inferiority complex by always laying claim to be the biggest club in the land. Now it looks like they will be by default.

Average attendances in the A-League Women hover at around 1200 – down from the pre-COVID record of 2164, despite improving on-field quality APL chief executive Danny Townsend is optimistic of a record-breaking crowd of over 10,000 for the ALW final SMH

Be it freebies and paid ticks the womens game from grass roots up is flourishing. There will be alot of of young devotees in the crowd and familes. Damming figures Flytox but are we surprised.

You'd think they should be allowed to count the original number.

A-League Men has attracted over one million fans through the gates for the 2022-23 season.
After 137 games, the season's attendance is at 1,021,421. That's an average of 7,457 per game.
This is the first time the league has cracked seven figures since the 2019-20 season.

Wookie not sure if you're aware, that City v Victory game was the postponed game, and some 20k had already turned up for the first part of the game (which went for 21 min). Not sure how you'd normally handle an event like this, but it seems to me that it's fair to count that figure for the one game, rather than counting the 2nd figure. Or are you using the ratings formula?
