Not sure why you link high migration numbers to football attendance Paulie?

I mean I know it suits your xenophobic outlook on Australian society but Greek migration is tiny compared to others. How do you explain Croatian, Turkish, North Macedonian and Maltese founded clubs btw????

What’s the largest Greek city after Athens and Thessaloniki? Patras? Heraklion? Larisa? Cue to wrong answer buzzer sound. The correct answer is Melbourne! Melbourne has a Greek community of about 400,000 people, has been holding the title of the 3rd largest Greek city for decades and is justifiably considered as the city with the largest Greek-speaking population outside Greece

a) It's an indicative timetable; b) do we necessarily expect the shortlist and the RFP details to be made public?

FA can do whatever they like, although the same applied for the EOI list, and FA trumpeted it.

Whichever way the FA do it, any of the clubs might mention when something happens , and so far .........crickets

Canberra Croatia President has commented about no-one at FA had even looked at the EOI's 2 weeks ago

Although there is no obligation from FA to share any information, I am kinda surprised they haven't yet. Especially at this stage of the process. The longer it goes, the more likely that it gets pushed back. Maybe they want to align with the AL so they are deliberately taking their time.

I'm guessing knowing them and the many opposers there is alot of ifs buts maybes amongst them behind the closed doors.
Not surprised the way football has been managed in this country for so so long, this is where the FA/JJ fail imo, even though nothing is in concrete be more transparent.

To be fair, they don't even have to do that. They can lie and just issue a brief press release saying 'The quality of the application has turned out to be well above expectation so we are taking longer to finalise a shortlist'. That's enough to keep people onside for a few more weeks. When there is zero communication, people really start to lose interest.

I heard a theory on the weekend that perhaps they are waiting for Aleague final participants to be "cemented" so they can present this as some sort of feel good story if public opinion swings against them?!?!?!?

One (yours) is about Australia wide, in 2021, and relates only to overseas births. Mine is about Melbourne and about migrant groups of Greek heritage. Find that one in the census.

Ah I see Paulie.. So you are reverting back to the age old schoolyard level racism now? So what are your definitions, which EVERYONE has to adhere to?

Does being born in Australia entitle me or anyone in my family to be an Australian in your eyes?
Is it a colour thing perhaps? A religious thing maybe?
Does it maybe depend on where your parents are born? Some countries are more acceptable to you than others?
Do people qualify to be "Aussies" after a certain amount of time?
Don't you ever get tired of this, seriously? Do you lie awake at night worrying about this stuff?

Frank Lowy "Era" is correct. Would have been a monumental success for the game had it been pulled off with the hosting of the WC. At the moment the FA are still struggling to implement what Lowy started and doing bugger all else.

wrong AGAIN Paulie..... FFA during the Lowy era attempted to bring a WC to our shores and embarrassed a whole nation but not even being able to offer a bribe correctly.
The NEW FA successfully bid and WON a WC which WILL be played on our shores in a couple of months.
The NEW FA at least has started the process whcih maybe will one day lead to a full pro/rel pyramid in this country, maybe
The NEW FA has separated the administration of the professional game from all other leagues (as per the Crawford report recommendation)
The NEW FA is trying to bully (with the foreign club owners at APL and the PFA kciking and screaming the whole way) a fair national tranfer system whcih will reward ADn incentevise the development of true football talent.

Since officially announcing the intention to bid in June 2017, the Australian Federal Government has provided $5 million in funding to prepare the formal bid submission.
FFA Chief Executive Officer David Gallop AM reiterated the importance of Australia's bid to FFA's vision for the game.

In particular, he said the introduction of a multi-tier model was all but inevitable. “I think we should take that into consideration because eventually we will have to have promotion and relegation,” Lowy told Fox Sports. “In my estimation, we will be made to do that.”

The two countries announced that they would submit a joint bid on 12 December 2019. The combined bid with the slogan "AsOne" featured 13 stadiums in 12 cities, with the opening match to be played at the Eden Park in Auckland, and the final to take place at Stadium Australia in Sydney.[17][18]
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Gallop
Gallop would prove to become an unpopular administrator within Australian football, with fan boycotts of A-League games reducing crowds by 32% in late 2015, protesting his decision to not defend the Australian football community after an article by News Corp journalist Rebecca Wilson leaked the identity of 198 supporters who had been banned from matches by the FFA, as well as a lack of a transparent appeals process for bans.[11][12][13]In July 2019, it was announced that Gallop would stand down from his role as FFA CEO in December 2019.[14]

Oh and as for uncle Franky's quote... hahahahahahahahah

FORZA FA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it just me or does the below mean they are looking at a CL model as a way to decide the clubs in NST initially???

The NST is anticipated to begin in March 2024 and will involve between 10 and 16 teams with a home and away league structure and finals, featuring 24 to 36 games. However, the possibility remains for Football Australia to institute a phased ‘group based’ model that will utilise the National Premier Leagues to decide the make-up of this format of competition (the ‘Champions League’ model).

I think the paragraph you have highlighted here is them covering their asses, especially if "big" clubs get upset they are not included in the NST
