Looking forward to the game got some tickets...

Think we are in with a shout.... defence is our biggest issue and one thing MC have is attacking weapons...

Feeling nervous ... looks like both sides are at full strength and both have had the same time off ....

Both attacking sides...

Enjoy your day and hope you get the win.

you have always come across to me as being an authentic football person. This is an events for plastics, scabs, bandwagoners as maybe theatre goers. It's disappointing you're going.

Show me all your posts from 2008 criticising the FFA taking home grand final rights off the Mariners and I'll concede you have a point.

No-one gave a rat's about the Mariners getting shafted for 2008, so why should we cry tears of blood for Melbourne or anyone else now?

The FA are arseholes and their decision was ridiculous, but that wouldn't stop me going to the GF after 10 years of misery.

To allow travelling fans to organise themselves to get there.

Apparently.

Bit harsh on central coast fans, think they'd only need a week to figure it out?

Fair enough but it IS supposed to be their "home game" ... whats the advantage, a dressing room, identical to the other teams?

Thats a poor approach mate... The whole Aleague is a series of random matches/events with lopsided draws and artificial teams for "plastics, scabs, bandwagoners as maybe theatre goers", whats changed now?

Nothing wrong with a bloke happy to see his team play in a grand final. Middie, enjoy the day son. I hope your "Sea Bogans" destroy the foreigners.... FORZA MARINERS!!!!!!!

Enjoy the match Mid, good luck, it's been a great season for Mariners.
I'm off to Japan for the day before otherwise, despite being a SFC fan, I would've been there to cheer the Mariners on. True David v Goliath contest here.
Melb City is the best club side I've seen play in watching this game for 40 years. Brisbane under Ange were more innovated but I think overall this City side better.

As for all the shit comments about scabs etc, people forget the football on the field. I'm in total agreeance  with the incompetence of the APL & their inability to read the room & cater for football fans. However, the football in the A-League, especially by the top 4 teams in the table has been great this year & I have loved it.
Not going to the GF you are also hurting the players, staff etc who has dedicated their season to the A-League.

I seriously don't see 35K at the stadium full of Mariners fans as a win for Danny & the APL.

More to the point, I wonder how Destination NSW will see it. They are using $5m of state money per year for this. They were expecting this deal would inject $26m into the NSW economy. They are going to have to sell a lot of hot chips at the 4 hour party to make that kind of money.

well said but despite players/staff etc being effected by fans for not supporting its the only way supporters can get through to the powers above.

Well in this case I think the APL has failed to meet their side of the bargain & shows you what a stupid idea it was.

I was more concentrating (as always) on the football on the ground.

Football administration in this country has always been very poor.

Its not. But they will claim it as a win and the wider Australian media who do not understand the ins and outs of the circumstances and fan anger (like offsiders on the ABC) will believe it.

You can't be too harsh on CCM fans. The last time they legitimately won the rights for a 'home' grand final it was played in Sydney anyway. They are probably the only club in the league who will never have a GF in their home town.

why so ? AU's capacity is 16500, so wouldn't that also apply to them ? have they had a GF ?
Gosford takes 20k, its a great ground for any special game.

Adelaide hosted the GF in 2016 against WSW at Adelaide Oval. Obviously not their usual home ground, but still their home town. It's probably only a 10 min drive between the two venues.
I would love to see a GF at Gosford, I just know it's always going to be moved to Sydney for them.

WSW were happy for it to be at Allianz because it allowed more of their fanbase to attend. CCM weren't ever happy with their move and it killed any momentum they were building in the area. Probably up there with the worst decisions the FFA made.

They'll probably get about 25k to this thing.  A few City fans, a flotilla from up the coast and the north of Sydney and some bored neutrals who probably got discounted tickets.

The slimy salesman DT and his Keepup laptops will call it a success and "something to build on to give the Grand Final a Wembley like occasion".

I reckon it will be a full house. It was reported yesterday that they had sold 22k. If they are giving out free tickets they'll get close to capacity. I bet there will be plenty of free tickets on offer at the Friday 'party'. If I lived in Sydney and was gifted a ticket, I'd definitely consider going.
Either way it's already a win for the APL. Last year they only got 22k and that was with a true home final. Saving MC a bit of embarrassment as well. No way they would have got those numbers this year.

I just found out the NRL State of origin is tonight. So basically Danny Townsend tries to build his Sydney festival of football around one of the biggest sporting events in NSW. You would think if the Bayern Munich game went ahead, it would have got lost in all of the media attention for the State of origin.

The incompetence of Danny Townsend is ridiculous. He truly has no fucken idea.
