+x+xBurgess featured against Leipzig and Breen. Good signs. I’m bullish on Burgess becoming a Socceroo if he plays regular Championship football this season. Left sided CB as well. Probably first back-up for Rowles as a natural left sider.

+xIredale being a first-choice starting striker in the Buli 2 is absolutely huge. Needs to come into the next NT squad.

+xDuke's Machida Zelvia is currently top of the J league 2. They usually play 2 strikers but another guy "Erik" keeps scoring every game while Duke hardly score (maybe only 2 so far this season). Now Duke is back on the bench I wonder if that's the reason being on the bench for not scoring enough at J2 level. This could be a concern for the Socceroos since Maclaren isnt nearly good enough for national team. Duke is a guy who might get a send-off at an Asian Cup but beyond that we'd be looking at other options. G. Kuol, M. Toure, D'Agostino, Irankunda, Iredale are the group. I'm hoping someone steps up from there. Perhaps Botic and Jovanovic as well. We'll move past Duke, McLaren, Taggart, Cummings.

+xIredale being a first-choice starting striker in the Buli 2 is absolutely huge. And guess what, he's clinical too. Only question is whether the league skill and form converts to a gold shirt. We've seen it not be the case with Maclaren. He was in Arnold's first ever squad, a training camp.

Silvera is another that has been scoring a lot in preseason from the wing.

Tricky opening day with Wiesbaden down a goal at HT. Might see some subs to mix it up. Big campaign ahead. Westerlo with Bos later on.

D'agostino is a central striker yes but still have a lot to prove in Europe. Heart coach used to put Gerang Koul as a striker and he became completely useless. At the moment I feel Duke is still the best option we have.

Standard is pretty decent. Been a while since I watched the juliper league
Definitely comparable to Portugal or eredivisie and a step up from spl
I was impressed by st Pauli too. Hope they get promoted

+xIf anyone has been following the development of Zak Gilsenan, the former wunderkind who was called the Irish Messi and represented a junior Australia team, he seems to have shaken off his most recent long-term injury and has been in Blackburn’s first team games throughout Pre-season. He seems to have played a significant part because he has scored in a few of the most recent matches; including a penalty overnight against Stockport.
Blackburn play again tomorrow against Girona, which will probably feature a more full-strength team, so it’ll be interesting to see if he’s there.
He was playing regularly for the U23 team last year and was on the bench a few times for the first team before he got an injury. It’ll be good to keep an eye on another eligible Aussies in the Championship this season. Yeah I've been following him for a few years now - he's been injured a lot in that time. He was included in the squad for the u23 tournament in France, but pulled out for personal reasons. He's a striker with potential

Irvine & Metcalfe started in a 2-1 win. Irvine with an assist & MOM on FotMob. Bos starting, which is awesome. Davidson also starting in the same game for Eupen. So we've got 4 players in Belgium - now a top 5 league - which is very promising.

Not too concerning Iredale came off at HT as they were behind and brought on their top striker from last season. You'd think though what compels the manger to start Iredale over him? Anyway they lost at home to start. Hannover with a stupid 2:2 draw at home to Elversberg which only has a bus stop. Imagine a place like Toukley having a club in the second divison of a country with 84m people.

At the moment I feel Duke is still the best option we have. All of those players are most suited to a 9 or 10 except maybe Irankunda. The hope is they develop and become starters. I think we need to and will start bringing those players through NT squads.

+xAnyone know how our Juliper League players went? All I can see is a 2:2 draw between Bos and Davidson. Bos with double the performance rating over Davidson yet it's internet user base I think. Nice assist by Irvine today. Seeing Irvine and Metcalfe on that hallowed turf. Bundesliga 2 just nuts this season with big clubs and crowds.

Just watched Iredale's first half. He's good at getting away from a market and it was a shame the early header looped over.
One pass he threaded through the tightest of gaps on the sharpest of turns was impressive. What stood out was the positional awareness and the touch and movement after passing. There was also a decent use of dribbling and pace. I think he'll be benched next week as Pratjin really is incumbent and scores regularly but Iredale showed he's of the grade yesterday. Cap due.

Well my jaw has dropped. I didn't realise it yesterday but Iredale was actually subbed in the 55min due to a nasty knock on his knee. With a previous ACL, this is scary. He was holding it a lot and it had to be bandaged as he walked off with the trainer. I guess walking off is better than being carted.
He posted this: 2.Bundesliga debut today!! Strong fighting spirit from the team! First tests on my knee have been good news🙏🏼 so let’s see how it reacts over the next couple days!

Ugh, Souttar on bench for Liverpool game in Singapore with Doyle and Vestergaard ahead and neither Coady nor Faes in this squad. Souttar is clearly number 5 now. Immediate loan or permanent move and he has to put his foot down.
Souttar will start in the cup against Burton and invariably due to a lack of minutes, they'll be rusty and lose only deepening the coach's distaste for him.
Not even going to bother repeating myself that he's totally of the grade and more.
I don't think lower Championship clubs can necessarily meet his wage demands. Schalke are in desperate need of a good CB so a loan there would be good but I doubt they even know he exists.

So Deng has had 5 starts for 3 clean sheets and 7 points of late. Sainsbury's Qatar season to an end with a strong finish and ACL qualifying. Dellbridge has a good chance of ACL in qualifying. Wright's team automatic group stage.
