Sunderland out on pens. Triantis scored his. Only 1-2 moans on twitter so it'd seem a fine game albeit Crewe advancing sucks. Top night for Yengi. Posh through on pens. Dougall disposes of Elder. JRB's and AMB's cup is done. Reading win 4:0 at The Den

I couldn't understand why WSW were using Yengi as a winger when he's a classic centre forward all along, big and strong with good feet he's an No.9 through and through.
I can see him scoring goals in League 1.

Probably goes back to an old topic but do Australian coaches know how to utilise our players in the best possible way? There is probably so much talent over the years that have been under utilised by coaches that haven't fulfilled their potential either by not giving them responsibility in their best position or by poor coaching.

Overall a great night for Aussie's in the UK.

I feel Silvera is moving past Mabil for NT consideration. Goodwin > Silvera > Mabil in terms of depth.

Bilokopic helped Peterborough win in a shootout. He saved at least one pen.

FotMob had Gilsenan at LW and with a rating of 8.8
Iredale with a full match for Bolton in a 1-0 win. Got a 7.9.
Gethin Jones on the bench for Bolton.

FotMob had Yengi as MOM with 8.9, while Robertson seemed handy in his 28 min cameo. His defensive stats were good. Almost 100% success in tackles, interceptions etc. Got a 7.4, according to the app. That’s decent and was equal highest midfield rating, despite only 28 minutes. Obviously, it’s based on certain stats, but they can’t complain about him with a start like that. A lot were concerned that he hasn’t played against men, failed at Ross County and ‘had never played in front of a big crowd’. I had to educate people on his last 12 months, and that 70,000 Messi fans in China was, indeed, a large crowd.

I was really pleased looking at almost all the results overnight. Quite a successful morning for our players. I also took confidence from the fact that even the losses for the few subs of ours coincided with them being left on the bench.

Souttar not in Leicester squad for cup. He's definitely leaving. It'll be a loan no doubt. Sucks but it's for the best in this situation. Ross Barkley to Luton today. Souttar to Luton would be good exposure for a season.

No Luongo or Burgess for Ipswich. Shows the esteem they're held in.

No Jelacic for Gent in Conference League qualifying. They've got a massive bench. I hope a loan move is on the cards.

Luton would be good exposure for a season.

If he had the chance he should go, they will most likely get relegated but who knows. Take the lower wage and see.

More believable than the Celtic reference. He isn't good enough to play for Celtic.

But, Rangers are skint. They have stretched themselves with their acquisitions this transfer window. How, other than if it was a  a loan deal, could they afford to buy him?

Disagree. He would, at best,  be 4th choice there. He would need to displace Carter Vickers or Maik Nawrocki. That wouldn't happen. Maresca doesn't seem to  rate him at Leicester either.

It is all academic though because he isn't going to Paradise.

Holland starting away to Legia, captain's armband
Ryan, Rowles, Atkinson, Devlin as well

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

interesting comparison between midtable spl and midtable norwegian league

they look roughly the same level to me but norway plays a style more conducive to developing players

Ahh the good old celtic fan arrogance. As if an ex Epl defender- that was also outstanding at the Qatar Wcup- isn’t good enough for your little Glasgow team that never does anything in UCL. All they can do is lose to Sydney FC in a Friendly and win a 2 team league SPL trophy.
Hope Souttar does join Rangers to make celtic regret not signing him 😂

Boyle & Miller also started for Hibs in a 3-1 win. Fans liking what they saw of Miller. Here's hoping he keeps his starting spot for the next premiership game. Still think he's got the potential to be our long term RB for the Socceroos, but Strain probably just shades him at the moment.

LOL

Yes he was outstanding in Qatar but he was far from the best CB there.

The truth hurts eh. He only played 11 games in the EPL so lets put that in perspective.

Celtic "a little Glasgow team"? in 2019, France football ranked them as the 21st biggest club in the World.

Why would Celtic regret not signing him if he joins Rangers.?  He is not a Celtic target. They already have better.

How many celtic defenders played in Qatar WCup? And made round of 16?! Just because celtic have lots of fans doesn’t mean they are a great side by world standards. Like i said they don’t do well in UCL for the ‘21st biggest club’ and can’t even beat Sydney FC 😂

You forget that the European Cup sits in Celtics trophy cabinet.
if you consider meaningless friendlies as an indication to a clubs strength then you know even less about football than I thought you did.

So i assume NO celtic defenders played in Wcup and/or round of 16 then. If Friendly games mean nothing i guess that’s why truly great teams like Liverpool, Man City, Barcelona all play Friendlies in Aus and ALWAYS WIN.
Don’t expect to make biased and arrogant comments about SPL on an Australian football forum without expecting Australian football fans to harshly respond.

You assume wrong. Cameron Carter Vickers is a Celtic defender. The USA played England in the round of 16.
Josip Juranovic, who was then a Celtic defender,  played in the 3rd place playoff for Croatia. A fair bit better than the round of 16.

You must be one of the few football fans that takes notice of the results of friendlies.

Juranovic played as a right back. He is not a CB.

Maybe but  Maik Nawrocki is better. Genuine answer.

Souttar would be fine at Rangers but Celtic is a level above.
