A team that got humped 4-0 a week ago could end up World Champions.

Not saying we can beat Spain. Or England. Not counting those chickens.
But we would've gotten smashed by Sweden in the final if it were to be.

Spain were the better team, you can tell Sweden were relying on their height for chances especially with the goal they scored but Spain played the better football.
It sets up tomorrow night's big game in Sydney.

Glad Sweden lost, they don't add anything to the development of women's football.

They seem well structured and organised and we struggle to break that down. That's mostly it. They're quite disciplined in approach and don't lose cohesion all that easily. Up against that, we would struggle to punch through that and I think the crowd and emotion behind us would transform to frustration. Overriding all of that is that Sweden seemed to have enough technical ability that they could pierce through us at some point and the flood gates would open. Trust me man I dreamed this shit all over.

Agree they were well structured but switched off for both goals... was a very entertaining last 20 mins or so last night but Spain justly got the win....

+xA team that got humped 4-0 a week ago could end up World Champions. No fluke either they were comprehensively out-thought and out-played. I'm counting on natural law they'll be runners-up

Talk about turning that up. Thats the beauty of a tournament, you can afford a banana skin.

Prince of Wales despite being royal patron of the football association won't be in attendance, not will the UK prime minister If this was the men's world cup final you could guarantee both would be in attendance. Mysosongy all round

It'll be interesting to see how England go at getting the ball as Spain will just hold it.

Very, very entertaining first half. Spain play beautiful football and they took over in the second half of the first half and well deserve their 1-0 lead.

+xWell. That save cancels all that controversy out. Keeper was off her line. Not called out for it for some reason.

Spain the better team in the final, especially the first half, with a well deserved victory.

+xOuch. Hannover got a penalty like that yesterday but this one was less than that. Thought it was pretty clear, she ran forward straight into the ball. Was more hand to ball than the other way round. Spain miles too good anyway, how did Japan beat them 4-0?

Basically when you have a plan to counter attack and swarm teams like Spain or Pepball, they have no other way to play. You've got to ruthlessly swarm and attack. England were harmless and passive. Japan got it right to a tee.
