Luongo should def be in the next squad. He's always been highly rated wherever he's played, but injuries have curtailed his progress. A solid Championship player, with decent technique and solid defence. A far better player than Irvine.

+xJust let the guy play for NZ. We should be looking at players for the world cup He'll be 30 in 2026 so he'll be at the right age. It's just a matter of whether the likes of Bos, King, Farrell and Maraugis kick on and develop. Even Gersbach could get back into contention with regular football, he should go back to Ligue 2.

Luongo is finally back fit and in form. He should come in for Devlin. Love Devlin but we can't leave Robertson out now he's growing with first team football. Baccus is a mainstay. O'Neill is in a strong position.

Two new Aussie coaches replacing Staj for Filipinas national team.... interesting
Sinisa Cohadzic, has been appointed as co-coach of the Phillipines National women’s team. He will share his duties with Western United Senior Women’s Coach, Mark Torcaso. They are taking over from Alan Stajcic, former Matildas Senior Coach, who successfully navigated the Phillipines to the recent Women's World Cup defeating co-hosts NZ in the group phases. The roles will be predominantly based in Australia which allows Sinisa to remain in his role at South Melbourne FC and continue developing the blue print that has helped shape our successes over his tenure.

Interesting move by the Philipines, I wonder if Staj had anything to do with recomendations? https://pff.org.ph/2023/08/23/pff-names-torcaso-as-pwnt-head-coach/Australian Sinisha Cohadzic will be Torcaso’s assistant with the PWNT and will also serve as head coach of the girls’ Under-17 and women’s Under-20 national teams.

I love Mass Luongo, but he plays as a number 6 these days, so he'll be competing with O'Neill to take over from Mooy. Luongo & Irvine play a different role. Irvine does a good job for us as a number 8, but he's got a lot of competition now.

Jefferson Cheng, a Filipino who co-owns WSW is their team manager and no doubt would've had a say in both the appointments of Stajcic and now Torcaso.

Bos is already better than this player and a lot younger. I doubt this player would get more than 5 caps so no point taking him from New Zealand.

Didn't realise it had been scheduled for Wednesday. Hibs smashed 5:0 at home by Aston Villa. Boyle and Miller full games. Jeggo subbed on at HT.

Lewis Miller, got badly shown up for the rank defender that he is. He is nowhere near the required level. I said on this forum when he was at the mariners, that he was never good enough.

Can’t believe people think he’s in contention for the Socceroos. 12 months before going overseas, he was getting benched in favour of Stefan Nigro lol

Just seemed to be off the pace.

Also would like Genreau to start just ahead and feed McGree and Boyle. It's a shame Iredale is probably going to be unfit because we need to park him up top in a game one day.

Early Hearts penalty scored then a few minutes later PAOK burst through and Rowles lunges in and it's a penalty and 1:1. Geez Rowles very unnecessary that.
These Scottish commentators are hilarious. Minimal contact for Hearts pen and they claimed it was the equivalent of being shot while Rowles cleans him up and 'I don't think there's much contact to be honest.'

Devlin really involved again. Nice swift cross to Shankland headed to keeper and rebound should have been scored. Devlin just works at Hearts. Tricky to fit him in for Australia. It's interesting as his club form is markedly better than O'Neill currently. I wouldn't say O'Neill has been bad but Devlin has a lot more fire in his belly at the moment. Healthy competition.

All of our Scottish based players are crap. The league is extremely poor, it should never be viewed as an upgrade from the A league, unless its Celtic or Rangers. SPL based Australians should only he considered for national teams once they transfer to a decent standard like the Championship.

Our key players Baccus,Rowles and Atkinson are just too slim Need to put alot more muscle on as id like to eventually see them in the championship.

McGree, Silvera starting. Glover bench. Triantis bench. Luongo and Burgess starting.
