For me, I loved Germany 06 for this, so many people in a small area. Was incredible experience. I still keep in touch with mexicans and germans I met at that Cup.

FIFA should include China, Myanmar, Syria, North Korea.... make it a human rights special

Two new South American countries to experience WC football is good news!

With the expanded WC format, I think  it is good to have the tournament played in three major countries, with three others playing a supporting role.

I'm not sure what the facilities  are like in Morocco?

Even though they are in two separate continents, Spain, Portugal ( Europe) and Morocco (Africa), are all next door to each other. There will be little travel involved.

So FIFA can get away with this 2030 nonsense but when I suggest a bottom 32 World Cup so San Marino can take on Djibouti in Liechtenstein, I'M the one who should 'please refrain from emailing again'. Incredible.

I believe it's been stated only a total of 3 games to open the tournament will be in South America.

Morocco have been trying to get this as long as Istanbul the Olympics.

I could have read that wrong then. Marginally better but still awful.

Absolutely horrible decision and sets an even horrible precedent.
It's ok to have one (ESP/POR/MAR) or the other (URU/ARG/PAR), but to have both, and ALL 6 qualify automatically is ridiculous and sets up a few things that will be a farce:

• Qualifying - At least the qualification slots will come out of each continents quota. Therefore, the qualifying procedures will mean that the following amount of countries will qualify through whatever qualification process each confederation has (using current member numbers, and assuming Russia is allowed back into UEFA by then)
• AFRICA - 8 direct slots, 1 playoff slot (53 nations)
• EUROPE - 14 direct slots, (53 nations)
• SOUTH AMERICA - 3 direct slots, 1 playoff slot (6 nations)
• Then, there is the issue of the playoff tournament slots. The premise is that the host confederation gets an extra playoff slot, but.. now there's 3. Will all 3 confederations get an extra playoff slot? That's my assumption, will turn it into an 8 team playoff tournament (1 Asia, 1 Nth America, 1 Europe, 1 Oceania, 2 Africa, 2 Sth America) with two nations qualifying.
• Travel - Obviously Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay are onboard, so they've accepted the whole travel thing. 3 countries are going to get the short end of the stick of having to travel all the way to Sth America, then all the way to Iberia. Using us as an example, that's an 18+ hr flight from Sydney to Buenos Aires, and then another 12hr flight to Madrid.
• Precedent - We've already seen arguments of precedent made about Qatar. Clearly FIFA is comfortable with holding the World Cup in Nov/Dec in the future, so it may possibly be the case with the 2034 World Cup. But, hey, maybe we can make a deal to host the opening game, and only the opening game of the 2034 World Cup at the MCG or Stadium Australia before flying out to Riyadh!
• Further expansion - I remember hearing/reading in the past (may have even been a joke) that one day in the future, FIFA might try hosting two simultaneous world cup tournaments in two different countries, and then those that qualify meet in a third country to continue the knockout stage. I fear that day is coming closer, and closer...

Oh North Korea in a world cup would-be great. Could they invite their mates from south Korea to join??
