+xRyan Strain, having a groin operation on Monday. Out for three months. That sucks for everyone concerned - he's had a great season so far for St Mirren & it completely fucks up the depth in one of our weakest positions for the Socceroos, just before a major tournament. Miller it is then. Atkinson may be just about to come back from injury himself.

Just found out he is taking a break from football after fans chased him after being relegated last season https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzEDdaN6MJ4

His first touch, pass and move is as good as Japanese J league players and def better than Miller and Atkinson.

Concerning we're starting to focus on too many players who can't play a ball or are stumbling all the time. Irvine, Leckie, Miller, Behich and to an extent Baccus compared to players like Luongo, Genreau, O'Neill, Strain, Bos.
I just hope we can get players together who can use it on the ground and don't trip themselves up all the time.

Wiesbaden down 2:0 already so hopefully Iredale will get a chance.
Bits and pieces today. Bayern game off due to snow.

Duke Goodwin(Arzani) Luongo Metcalfe (Mabil) Irvine O'Neil Bos Burgess Souttar Deng Ryan
Need Goodwin for set piece

If only Genreau played more for his club. Robertson is already doing things with the ball that we just wouldn't see from other players. I want intelligence and skill on the pitch.

Iredale on. Wiesbaden score and commentary incorrectly says he scored. German commentary has to be one of the most inept out there. The other day they said Ryan was Scottish.

Great game for Robertson again. Heaps of praise for him and lots of fans saying he the best player they've had since being in the Prem. Was listening to a Pompey podcast earlier this week and they reckon City will try to sell him next season for 10+ million "euros".

another assist for robertson
robertson is getting to be aaron mooy level, albeit at a league down. Wonder whether he will play in the ecl next year or try straight for the epl
he might have a chance in the epl, but probably not man city you would think

no starting spot for kuol this week
been in and out of the starting xi but still plenty of minutes
hearts in 3rd and they are favouring a more modern approach. With celtic rangers and hearts there as well as montgomery putting his stamp on hibs it could become 10% less awful in the near future which is good for us

reading hearts forum will give you whiplash
all baying for neiwenhofs blood in the first half then all saying he had a great match after they won
I'm guessing this has more to do with their emotions than any real change in his performance

gee volendam are depressing to watch
they are really a level below this league
good for kuol though to get so many minutes in a tough league, though he is 90% learning to improve his defence.

Need Goodwin for set piece Like the look of Luongo as the link between mids and fwds. Am also concerned that in recent squads only Bos looks likely to unlock a defence. (Goodwin to LB?) Anyways hope to see players like Yengi, Arzani, Kuol and Irankunda make the squad.

A team can lose one game and they'll act like the season is over.

Deng plays in a 1:0 win to end the season. Somewhat in and out of side but was in it for the campaign as a promoted team and a vast I proved compared to the tough times at Urawa. With injuries he may be just about playing himself into Asian cup contention despite the Ecuador performance tarnishing him.
Like Duke, he's got to find a club to train with. Duke said he'd be going to England near his family so maybe Wycombe or Oxford. I'd anticipate Deng to do lots of sessions in Australia with a fitness coach. Maybe Victory can have him along? Not far to go now anyway.

Not far to go now anyway. Against strong opponents in the Asian cup Deng will be very useful with back 3. I watched him in J league he is pretty solid, reliable and had a good first touch and passing. The only downside is I never seen him score from corner or set piece. Something that CB should be able to do.

Degenek bench. He clearly went back for the Belgrade lifestyle. Genreau bench. Still no Hrustic in a game that has 29 total bench players.
