The 3 strikers should be Duke, Fornaroli & Yengi imo. No room for Iredale ahead of those 3 in my opinion.

https://youtu.be/ab2rCUqTNNw?si=3dLALG0OauXEJ1pZSt Pauli Wiesbaden Highlights. Iredale smashed the bar just before his goal too. He's bebe deployed on the right to for him in. He's a 9 but is alright at dribbling past a man too.

+xThe 3 strikers should be Duke, Fornaroli & Yengi imo. No room for Iredale ahead of those 3 in my opinion. Fornaroli is really on fire so there's a good chance of scoring. Interestingly Iredale plays at the highest level of the listed players. The dilemma is playing hot form right how but also ensuring good form and prospects get that tournament experience. We're all going to be glum when Maclaren gets listed.

+xWatched the last half an hour of volpato. Was busy, nearly had an assist but otherwise not much to report I just watched it as well, he was very good. The commentator calling him the main man for Sassuolo, as he was involved in everything. Easily the most technically gifted Australian player at the moment. Would love to see O'Neill/ Luongo #6, Robertson #8 & Volpato #10 at some stage in the future. In the meantime, I'll continue to watch his progress until he decides who he wants to play for at international level.

It's nice to be in a position where we have some depth that will allow impactful tactical substitutes. I thunk that's true for wide forwards also.

Cummins, Maclaren, Taggart, Fornaroli etc all been below par for the national team. I’d prefer we invest in our youth

Easy to play well when the opposition is playing with 10 men and is giving you space

I’d prefer we invest in our youth TBF Cummins and Fornaroli have had only limited time and Taggart has not had a call up for a while.Whom of the young strikers do you think should be given a go-Yengi,Botic,Alou Kuol,Waddingham,Ivanovic? All may get their chances in the next WC cycle but apart from Yengi the others I have named would not be ready for the Asian Cup.I have never seen Iredale play so cannot comment on him. If Irankunda settles at Bayern I feel the coaches there might give him a chance to play as a central striker in their reserve/U 20 teams. He has the size, pace and shooting ability to make it in that position.Whether he is able to handle the pressure of the tight marking and niggling that goes with being a spearhead is another matter.

If it's going to be mostly about playing a high line against stacked defences, then we'll need strikers who can operate well in tight spaces. Fornaroli has shown in the past he can, not sure about Duke, Yengi and Iredale. However, if both Fornaroli and Duke go, that's 2 players well into their 30s. Duke turns 33 next month and Fornaroli even older. Could be a conflict between providing best chance of winning the trophy and blooding youth.

He also played well the last time he was given an opportunity. The fans are all calling for him to start on social media

Souttar only comes on in the 90th min. Hard to understand how a player who dominated in the Championship previously & at the WC, can only get on at the end of the game to waste time!!!

Yengi goal and Silvera assist at half-time. Granted Pompey aren't playing a league game and 90% of their starters aren't playing.

Beautifully angled run and slowed down to make sure he wasn't offside for his goal. Very intelligent run

Iredale seems a very smart player.. keeps his head up... which you cant say for many aussie players... keen to see if he can keep pushing.

If Iredale becomes a regular goal scorer he'll be in the NT sooner than later. He's broken into the starting line up and has a goal now so hopefully on the right trajectory.

+xBrighton have recalled Peupion from that horrible loan. Would love to know what happened there. My hunch is Cheltenham wanted to persist with their players and starting winning which they slowly did. They're still in massive trouble.

Some reports Sheffield United are interested in Souttar. This is OK in that they're generally a force in The Championship and they're a decent club. It'd be good to have half a season EPL too and you never know who might be watching.

They also brought in like 7 loanees and can only play 3 every game. I'd say he's going out again in January.

tough day out for oniell
a player got redcarded early on so they played most of the match with 10
he also gave away a penalty
the ball got smashed into him at close range via a shot on goal and it struck his hand as he was turning to brace himself for impact
the hand ball rule is so bizarre in football haha
