Daniel Bennie first ten games he didn't have a single goal contribution, his fotmob rating was 6.2 and visually I reckon he was the worst player in the league to, for the most part, hold down a starting place
his last 10 games he has a goal and 2 assists and a fotmob rating of 7.2 average putting him well above average.
How many times have youth been given that much faith in this league? It seems that game time at this age is crucial to their development. I think Yull got dropped just as he was coming good. Are there any others that you think should have had more faith this season?

Isn't it a bit of a balance though? You don't want to give players a go just because they are young they should have to earn their spot

Emerton got around 10 goals in his u21 season so has plenty of time to match that being still just 17 years old Clayton taylor is doing well young too

Cant play an u17 team, but fans should ignore the first 15 or so games of a young player imo In australia thats more than half a sesson tho....if that was a third of a season its probably easier to rationalize a project player

Of course i’m not trying to compare because they in a different level but Bennie’s style reminds me of Thomas Muller with how he plays, he always seems to find space quite well for an attacking midfielder a different type of attacking midfielder whom they want the ball at feet especially in those tight spaces.
The second goal for Perth is a good example, the way he found space between the Adelaide defence was impressive.

Are there any others that you think should have had more faith this season? Did you actually was those games though? Because I watched a lot of them he definitely didn't look bad, he didn't have a goal contribution but he was close to scoring quite a few times and generally was solid. Fotmob is not really a good indicator for judging a player, especially one without contributions as contributions inflate people's ratings even if they're penalties or tap-ins. Bennie was never looking like the worse player in the league.

speaking of keeping faith, emertons stats in the nsl make for some reading and a lesson in patience
u18 - 18 appearances for 2 goals u19 - 24 appearances for 3 goals u20 - 21 appearances for 2 goals u21 - 31 appearances for 9 goals
his first season fans are probably always going to be patient. But in his 3rd season he is still only scoring 2 goals
